I read about this facial recognition feature that many are required to do, but I also read that the message reaches those who have the bank's app. So I assume it's something that those who use the bank's app are required to do. My question, ultimately, is this: I've never used the app; I've never received a call from the bank, a text message, an email, or any alerts when I use the ATM. Does this mean I'm exempt from doing so?

Yes, face recognition is done when using the banking apps.

Millions of old style customers unaffected. Use ATM with card or even take book and ID to the branch.

And on the apps it is required only for transactions exceeding 50k Baht.

Yeah. Probably. Until you hear otherwise.

Depends on your bank. I'd probably visit my opening branch and make sure they have the information they need.

Not sure about never using the app, I transfer money most days from my BKK bank app.

I'm the same that I have never received received a call from the bank, a text message, an email, or any alerts

Have you a Bangkok bank account, it seems the issue with this bank.

How long have you had your bank account?

I've had my Bangkok bank account for nearly 20 years.

I assume I haven't been contacted by the bank is due to my using the app most days or due to my longevity with the account

BTW, your facial recognition required for changing transaction limit

I've always been a Thanachart customer. I opened my first account in 2007. Then, when that branch closed, I closed it and opened a new one in 2018, with a work permit and a Non-O visa. In the last four years, my account has been blocked twice: twice for simple updates to my details. Both times, the message appeared at the ATM. However, I could withdraw money directly from the bank, via my bankbook. The last update was for passport renewal, two years ago. There too, the ATM was blocked for three days, but I could withdraw money by going to the bank.
