BANGKOK - In a surprising yet decisive move, Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, boldly declared his readiness to become Thailand’s Prime Minister, a role he’s claimed preparedness for since 2019. With confident assurances, Anutin announced his plan to form a special government tasked with steering the nation forward, designed to operate for four months following a policy declaration. This strategy comes with the backing and conditions set by the People's Party as crucial collaborators.

On the evening of 29 August, Anutin, accompanied by key political figures, detailed this ambitious plan. The gathering took place at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters after intensive discussions with several political leaders, such as Santi Promphat from the Palang Pracharath Party and Sakda Witthienasilp from the Pheu Thai Party. This meeting highlighted a new era of political unity aimed at tackling Thailand’s ongoing challenges swiftly and effectively.

The essence of Anutin’s plan hinges on strategically navigating the political landscape to prevent stagnation and propel the nation forward. An agreement with the People's Party has been reached on numerous critical issues. Among them, the need for a constitutional referendum stands out as a pivotal step to address national governance concerns and enhance diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries. This temporary governing body intends to hand back power to the people within a tight four-month frame, post-policy articulation, including a strategic dissolution of Parliament to facilitate a national reset through renewed elections.

The recent Constitutional Court ruling has underscored the urgency and galvanised this collaborative push. Anutin stressed the need to avoid any halt in Thailand’s progress, bringing together a coalition of political factions capable of addressing the nation’s immediate challenges. This proposed government aims to focus on repairing international relations and restoring domestic peace and unity.

Anutin’s campaign has drawn backing from various political quarters, including notable support from Sakda Witthienasilp of the Pheu Thai Party and Suratin Pichan of the New Democracy Party. This diverse political coalition reflects a unified goal to secure Thailand’s ongoing development. Support from the People Party has been crucial, although some procedural specifics remain under negotiation, likely requiring formal agreements.

While addressing media queries, Anutin clarified questions about the People's Party’s official support and the tallying of votes. He emphasised practical success over numerical precision, confident that he could secure sufficient support to form a government. The conditions agreed upon with the People's Party, even if intricate in detail, are considered a pivotal step towards a functioning and effective administration.

A rapid pathway towards dissolving Parliament was discussed, focusing on addressing urgent national issues without delay. Anutin expressed a commitment to forming a government that transcends personal and party interests, aimed solely at national betterment. The collaboration includes contributions from the Kla Tham party, with members bringing significant experience and sincere intentions to the table, determined to address Thailand’s pressing challenges, reported the Daily News.

Anutin’s announcement grasps the current political climate, embodying a commitment to breaking through Thailand's political deadlock and guiding the nation towards a future of stability and progress. The strategic preparations hint at a transformative period in Thai politics, driven by a collective vision shared by various political entities.

As Thailand stands on the brink of potential political renewal, efforts are consolidating around a new ethos of cooperation and forward-thinking policies. Anutin’s readiness and willingness to assume leadership underscores a focused plan on immediate resolution and constructive renewal, heralding a fresh chapter in the nation’s governance landscape.

In summary, Anutin Charnvirakul’s declaration marks a pivotal moment in Thai politics, promising to invigorate the nation with renewed leadership and direction. With alliances firming up and strategic plans in place, the promise of a special government casts a beam of hope for Thailand's immediate and long-term future.

So, this is the marijuana guy, right? Big hurrah for him. He will usher Thailand in the right direction now. If the beach road and the walking street starts stinking marijuana, the invasion from India can be halted.

The problem is, when they do decide - it's rescinded by other powers.

A new election would do nothing as probably People Power would get the majority of the votes again and be kicked out by the totally corrupt court system here. They are probably getting the tanks ready for action now to eliminate the unarmed students when their rallys starts.

that was quick, only a few hours after the court ruling ... did they already know the court outcome in advance? the secret meeting was probably arranged a few days earlier ...

did they asked teflon toni in advance for permission? why wasn't teflon toni not invited? he will be most likely upset about this move behind his back .. how dare they could ...

Why? Isaan people seem to love Thaksin while the elites hate him. He's also shutting down the scam centers, which we'll see what this new guy plans to do about.

In the interests of accuracy: The essence of Anutin’s plan hinges on strategically navigating the political landscape to ensure that he (or more realistically his father) gets his go at running things.

Still, I expect the dope heads will be happy!

What happned to the young  bloke who the Thai population voted in at last Election, and was then booted out

  • Popular Post

He is the least ready person in the country. He is a boil on the face of Thailand. His association with Prayuth alone should disqualify him from ever holding a higher office. He is a scourge.

Issan people now despise Thaksin. Nobody I know from Issan thinks he is at all relevant anymore. His betrayal was absolute.

I believe the collective noun for a group of in-and-out the door Prime Ministers is a "Thai"

The MPs and the senate vote for the prime minister.  You are probably referring to Pita and the Move Forward party which got the most seats in the last election.  The party got disbanded because they went against the status quo.  The parties that we viewed anti stays quo received the most votes but now through the counts this guy who was in the previous pro military governments may end up as PM which is against what the majority of voters wanted in the last election.

As long as the old Constitutional Court is in place this will continue to happen.

The guy on the right in the white jacket has not yet mastered the gang's secret handshake, and as such he can't be considered leadership material.

I wonder, is he a Cambodian spy? Then that handshake actually works, hmm...
