Authorities have arrested a military doctor accused of defrauding his superiors and soldiers by administering undisclosed substances other than influenza vaccines.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), under Secretary-General Saroj Phunrampan, tasked Mr. Jorng Krahma, Director of the Investigation and Special Operations Bureau, and Mr. Phairoj Niyomdecha, Director of Investigation and Intelligence Operations 2, to investigate the case. They coordinated with the Crime Suppression Division to apprehend Second Lieutenant Jinnawat, also known as Mr. Borisut, in Samut Prakan province.

Lt Col Jinnawat is wanted under Bangkok Military Court arrest warrant no. 263/2568, issued on 30 May 2025, on charges of abusing his official position for personal gain, committing acts of corruption and causing damage to others, in violation of the Anti-Corruption Act B.E. 2561 (2018), Section 172.

The allegations stem from his tenure as a Level 1 military field hospital doctor. He is accused of misleading his commanding officers and soldiers of a special engineering company deployed in South Sudan into receiving influenza vaccines, while actually injecting other substances into their bodies. The doctor then allegedly fraudulently claimed US$5,800 in vaccine funds from the company commander for personal gain.

Authorities located the suspect at a petrol station on Kingkaew Road, Rachathewa Subdistrict, Bang Phli District and executed the arrest.

Lt Col Jinnawat was taken to Bang Kaew Police Station for record-taking and subsequently transferred to the Bangkok Military Court for legal proceedings.

They should have just executed him.
