December trial set for Wisconsin judge indicted over obstructing immigration agents

A Wisconsin judge who is accused of helping a migrant evade arrest by federal immigration agents will stand trial in December.

The trial for Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan, who was indicted on two counts in May, had her trial set for Dec. 15 on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman.

The jury selection is scheduled to take place on Dec. 11 and 12, according to court documents.

Too many wussies. Most Yanks are living in fear or cocooned in their own personal comfort zones. If white Americans stood up to ICE en masse, there'd be a quick end to these predators.

Most ( the none woke) white Americans don't give a flying <deleted> about ICE because they are not their target

Living in fear.. you're funny were going to amusement parks, bars, concerts etc.  No fear.

ICE are predators?? Do you know who ICE is?

It's "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" which means that their job is remove people that are illegally in the country, which they are working on.

So I assume with your comment your country has no immigration enforcement everyone can come and go as they wish?

It's not bizarre if you assume illegals will be voting. I would not care if ICE was at my polling place.

I think the plan has been to have the illegals use mail in ballots, and the DNC goes around harvesting them.

Its the upcoming census too. Blue states lose Americans but gain illegals.

so you dont care about law and order, anyone can just go where ever they want??

I'll send a few illegal immigrants to your place so they can setup a tent in your yard instead of our park!

Strange comment from a supporter of an administration that has time and time again policies overturned because they're illegal.

Your last sentence accurately depicts England. I wish I was joking. :coffee1:

Yep, hippies flew the rainbow flag, the Elizabethans tamed unicorns. And butterflies are everywhere, though corporations supported by govts are doing their best to make sure they're genocided for monery.

If you can't see the beauty in these things, I feel genuine pity for you. A sense of inquiry and wonder is something we're born with and a terrible waste to lose.

Incidentally, I support lots of charity for the homeless. Father Joe's Mercy Foundation is a good place to start.

Okay. Illegal immigration. You don't need to lock your doors or protect your children or defend your wimmenfolks because real Americans will be cleaning your swimming pool, painting your house, picking your strawberries. I bet they even use toilet paper, no need to rinse!

Get real. Immigrants are the reason America was successful. But it looks like the empire is being run into the ground by bullies.

Israelis were lready living in fer before October 7. You'e just in a luckier place. Enjoy the rides!

Unfortunately, all countries seem to have immigration controls these days, though these can be overcome with, you know, money. The question is, are you comfortable with AI, facial recognition, racial profiling, the surveillance state? I'm not: I'll do everything I can to preserve my privacy.

Dunno how long you've been living in the Land of...(well, whatever). But after 34 years of legal nonsense, I think I should have been grandfathered in 30 years ago. Is my legality here protecting Thailand in any way???

What does Israel have to do with you thinking people in the US are afraid?

All countries have had immigration control for decades, this is nothing new!!

Why would Thailand grandfather you in??? It's up to you to do what you need to do and become a citizen.

what are you rambling about???  AI, Face recognition etc...

No, I'm not happy and I dont think anyone is happy about being monitored all the time, but it's coming and nothing you can do about it, but this has nothing to do with the post!!

Sorry if I was unclear. Israelis have been living in fear of terrorist bombings for decades.

Everyone I know in the US, in both red & blue states, is afraid of the devolution of democracy, social care and basic freedoms. Not many are happy with the US cut-off of foreign aid. Essentially, we are seeing this becoming a class war. US soldiers and agents are showing no initiative to refuse to comply with illegal orders like picking Jose Jimenez off the streets in balaclavas & unmarked vans, firing at legal protestors. Americans are afraid, just not the stupid ones.

Lots of countries grandfather immigrants in for all sorts of reasons. You & I both know there is no reliable path to citizenship. How many do you know?

All I'm saying is that they could make it easier on us codgers who've been here legally for decades. Why not? I'll contribute B1900 as my tax every year to prove I'm still alive.

Surveillance make all these govt intrusions possible.

I dont know where you going with Israel,  you were talking about yanks being afraid in the USA, now you're talking about Israel

Thai citizenship can be obtained and it's not all that hard, but does take time.

I have several friends with Thai citizenship, I've never applied because I have no use for it. When I 1st moved to Thailand in the 90's I thought about it, but with my traveling all the time

there was really no need. I have a B visa and that works fine.

Getting Thai citizenship is expensive and it takes time (several years). Basic requirements are  5 years of being on a valid visa, 3 years of employment and paying taxes

That gets you started then it goes on a point system with points for each category such as Thai language, support of the community, etc.

However, it says 3 year on a work Visa but you do need to stay employed during the whole process so that moves things up to it taking about 8-9 years to complete everything.

of course I do!!  You've made the mistake in thinking I like Trump.  I dont really like the guy I think he's a big mouth used car salesman.

However, I'm happy with allot of what he wants to get done, Fair trade agreements would be nice. Try importing US products into Thailand or China.

I'm happy with the government finally starting to enforce immigration laws.  Florida has been flooded with illegal immigrants.

I dont have any issues with immigrants (my wife is Thai) but they need to do things legally.

Had an issue with a car accident. I guy hit me. No license, No insurance and not legally in the country.  So my insurance had to pay everything

and of course my rates go up. Our car insurance rates in Florida have been increasing each year for the last 3-4 years and when I spoke to the insurance company they said it's the amount of claims that are without insurance.

I was a democratic for decades, I changed when the party changed.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your considered replies. I appreciate it.

I guess my experience of the US & Thailand may be different to yours. University academics are de facto employees of the Thai govt but no tenure, pensions, benefits even after 30 years.

One thing, in my day, they didn't give me was a B visa because...civil servant even though I'm Canadian and who knows their logic. So I never had those three years required to apply for citizenship.

I know a few foreigners who are in their 70s-80s-90s who got Thai citizenship in late 60s, early 70s. None more recent than that. Yes, it's a lot of work. Permanent residence is also not more interesting. Wife & I are solid so it doesn't matter if my name in on any land. PR still has to apply for a re-entry permit! The only advantage is axing 90-day reporting.

I used to be more of an anarchist: no borders, no limits. I've tempered that a bit. But I'd like to see any country have great appreciation for the immigrants who have chosen their new country and work hard to benefit themselves, any family back home, as well as their new community.

In my experience, that's the only kind of legal or illegal immigrants I've seen: they work way harder than us. In the US, gangs are a problem. IMV, these gangs have arisen because the kids of those hard workers, whether Vietnamese, Cambodian, Hmong, Mexican, Guatemalan, Cuban just can't make the necessary degree of cultural adjustment to survive.

Look at kids today. They want everything right now we've worked our whole lives for. Not different for immigrant kids.

My experience of both legal & illegal immigrants are in California, the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia  & Ontario. In all these places, the Central Americans were not expats. They were seasonal workers. They came for planting & harvest and went home.

Americans or Canadians are not going to clean the swimming pools of the middle class, wash cars, pick cane, or pineapples, or strawberries or tobacco.

I see immigrants as the backbone of any nation. Of course, there are the screw-ups. But if you talk percentage, it's no higher than our middle-class kids. Think about it: don't you feel like the backbone of Thailand? I sure do. I picked my home & worked hard.

I like all the Mexican mom-and-pop restaurants and groceries. They're an asset not a debit. Who cares about legal & illegal, Eric. Those are false concepts. Honesty, integrity, and grit are what count not paper any govt can revoke.

Look around you: the Burmese, Cambodian & Laos. Do you see any troublemakers? I only see hard workers.

I guess I believe what's on the green girl's skirt: the tired, wretched refuse. I welcome them.

Do you not believe that illegal immigrants in the US:

  • Put downward pressure on wages?
  • Put upward pressure on housing costs?
  • Compete with low-income citizens for social services?

Given your opening paragraph, I'm guessing you are/were a teacher/professor, yes? Illegal aliens are not competing for your job, and or driving your wages down. Same with lawyers, doctors, engineers and most federal, state and local government jobs. Illegal aliens in fact put upward pressure on the wages for those jobs.

Incidentally, anyone that works legally in Thailand pays into Thail Social Security and after twenty years they get a pension and free medical for life.

Why should they do such a thing. ICE is doing what has been needing done since Biden opens the gates of the borders to any and all unchecked people. Allowing hardcore criminals and gangs and others with anti US rhetoric.

I do not see a problem with how ICE has managed such a tough job pretty well. Especially when idiots who are not affected by the flow of the illegals nor the crimes they commit cause more chaos trying to stop them.
