Trump Visits Britain: Royal Welcome But No Cheering Crowds

But did the invitation come at King Charles instigation or at the instigation of the government?

AFAIR the king or queen invite anybody they wish for a royal visit. That is the job of whichever government is in power.

Either way one of the two was 'just following orders'. Jobsworths one and all lol.

  • More likely the failing government want to avoid thousands of British patriots turning up to cheer Mr Trump while singing the popular anthem, "Starmer is a ******".

  • Come on Americans, don't be so serious. Just a bit of British banter taking the mick out of your compulsive lying president and his former mate(s).

  • More likely they're looking at what's going on in their country and wishing they had their own Trump to stop the invasion.

Trump was a NEPO admission actually.

Well if you have concrete facts, let's hear it!.

The nepo claim against Trump’s Wharton admission is speculative, relying on Fred Trump’s wealth and Kelley’s anecdotal frustration, not hard evidence. Wharton’s high standards, Trump’s graduation, and his later successes, demonstrate merit, not just privilege. The absence of admissions records or firsthand accounts further weakens the nepo narrative.  Trump’s track record suggests he met Wharton’s bar, reinforcing his competence.

Wharton’s degree wasn’t honorary; Trump completed required coursework over two years, passing exams and meeting graduation criteria.

Sorry Britain.sad

Can anybody tell me what the British people have got to cheer about ? their country is an absolute basket case...hundreds of boat people arriving every day and spending millions housing them in luxury hotels ,crime out of control , protesters in the streets , business closing everywhere  due to high taxes . the cost of a pint going through the roof forcing pubs to close and a waitlist of 2 years to get an x ray on the NHS.

Any country will cheer not having an inept, habitual liar and convicted felon as their leader.

I know it's true. I am sad to say that.

You've been watching too many YouTube ' documentaries' by  'influencers' or reading too many tabloids.

You could live in Hull, mind, God rest your soul.

If you were a bit closer to events recently, you would have seen very little cheering from the "British people".

Wrong....with only 13% declaring a dislike it suggests otherwise.

I said: "seems to be more and more out of favour with many of his subjects". That is true.

Your own link shows his absolute popularity is declining (little red trend indicator arrows) and only 53% now.

Your argument doesn't hold water.

Only 13% dislike him.

59% positively like him.

That is not a fall in popularity....I would suggest it is a sizeable increase from when he was Prince Charles.

59% according to this one:-

I am sure he is enjoying all this splendor and attention very much even whiteout crowd cheering

Reminds me of the crack that someone is born on third base and thinks he hit a home run. Trump was raised by an immensely wealthy father. He destroyed that business and  after several other failures had to use bankruptcy court to protect what was left to him by his father

I don't understand why citizens of the UK wouldn't be enthused to see the guy who is waging economic warfare against them. Just makes no sense at all.

Lol. I grew up there. Had some laughs but knew it was time to leave for greener pastures (literally) when I resigned from working in a fish factory to travel around Europe.

The foreman pulled me aside, 'Why are yer leaving, lad? Yer've got a job for life ere.'

'I want to see Europe.'

'Yer don't have to leave for that! Yer can watch it on telly!'

Keep scratching and you might find one over 60%.

I said that his popularity is declining - not zero.

Unfortunately your foreman was too hopeful. Not many fishy jobs there now.

Anybody knows when he is meeting with his best buddy, Prince Andrew, to exchange experiences?

"as the guy is a village idiot .Has the brain and class of a lowlife snake."

Maybe  you are thinking about yourself???😅

Jordan Peterson estimated Trump's IQ as "clearly well above average" (likely in the 120–140 range, though he didn't specify an exact number), arguing that anyone who thinks Trump is unintelligent is influenced by partisanship.

Jordan Peterson, as a clinical psychologist and former professor at the University of Toronto, is qualified to offer an informed opinion on IQ. He has extensive academic experience in psychology, including research and teaching on intelligence, personality, and psychometrics. His work often references IQ studies (e.g., discussing general intelligence in lectures and books like 12 Rules for Life), and he has engaged with the literature on cognitive abilities, such as the work of psychometricians like Richard Lynn or Robert Sternberg.

You need to get out and about more. Trump is a total moron, has the class and brain of a low snake that he is. No class at all, no morals,no scruples.

From the link you quote: "This means the latest date for the next general election will be 21 August 2029".

Yes, we were talking about the EARLIEST possible date, not the latest. Try to keep up old fella.

The Labour Party currently has a majority of 148 in the House of Commons, so a no-confidence vote has no chance of succeeding.

Not true. If Labour MP's continue to become increasingly disgusted with Starmer they could vote against him. It's called an internal rebellion.

While it is possible that Labour might call an early election in late 2028 if it deems the circumstances favourable, the chances of it doing so before then are minimal.

Not true. There are many circumstances which could force it. For example if the UK becomes insolvent. Under Reeves, quite possible. Another Labour IMF bailout could also force it.

Didn't you say a Leave vote for Brexit was "impossible"? 😃

I understand why the British government would want to cozy up to Trump at this point, as far as the general public goes Trump is deeply unpopular throughout the world, so not surprising at all that he was not met by cheering throngs.

Why do you think Trump is not swanning down the Mall in an open Carriage ? He is not liked here and is not wanted. There will be no walkabouts and every where he goes he will be kept well away from Demonstators.

its a bit of luck the king could put him in the stocks so people could chuck rotten food eggs and all sorts of excrement at him to show their disgust.

Generally speaking unlike America we dont tend to have snipers in the UK.

Well I would prefer to believe someone who actually know what they are talking about, rather some random person having a bad rant!☺️

The "born on third base" analogy misrepresents Trump's achievements: he took a regional business and globalized it, using bankruptcy as a tool for recovery, not a crutch.

Fred Trump's real estate empire, valued at around $200–300 million at his death in 1999, was preserved and expanded by Donald, who transformed it into a global brand worth billions, while personal bankruptcies were limited to specific ventures and did not touch the core family holdings.

Trump received ~$413 million (2018 dollars) from Fred over his lifetime through loans, trusts, and gifts, but this was gradual and tax-advantaged, not a lump sum "inheritance" handed at the start.

He started with a $1 million loan (repaid with interest) and built the brand independently, turning it into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise (e.g., licensing deals, The Apprentice). The family business thrived under his leadership, with no evidence of "destruction"—Fred's assets were protected via codicils and partnerships, avoiding creditor seizures during Donald's 1990s financial strains.

Because lefty protestors disrupt and cause disruption at any event they don't agree with .

Non Lefties cannot do anything without the Leftie thugs confronting them and attacking them .

Leftie thugs attack and break anything they don't agree with
