A chaotic incident unfolded in Phuket yesterday, as a foreign man was filmed walking naked through the Patong area, assaulting a police officer who tried to intervene. The bizarre events took place on a bustling road lined with shops and restaurants. According to reports, the foreigner confronted various tourists and motorists, shouting obscenities and refusing to calm down when other foreigners tried to help. Despite efforts by four traffic cops to detain him, the man continued his unruly behaviour, leading to a dramatic struggle where he allegedly strangled a police officer.

 

Witness accounts, captured vividly on video, reveal the chaos of the scene. A Thai motorist described intervening after witnessing the man attacking a policeman, while a woman’s incredulous laughter at his lack of clothing was heard in the background. The incident drew mixed reactions online, with some mirthfully dismissing it and others criticising the visa-free entry policy, suggesting it might be linked to declining tourist quality.

 

The man was eventually apprehended, as seen in images of him handcuffed by the police. What has a naked man to do with  tourist behavior and visa-free entries?? It is just 1 man who is not behaving himself and how many good tourists are there??? Must all tourist be the victim of the few who ruin things?? Easy according to me is blacklist these people, and those who don't behave... On the other hand all tourist destinations will have tourists who causes problems.. That is normal, all over the world. So if you are tourist destination you should know what to expect and nobody can controls everything, even THailand....

Better yet, take away assumptions and see how many replies there are. The only thing anyone can really say is that this man has a mental condition, drugs could be partly responsible but it's still an underlying problem, that this doesn't happen with only a few tourists, but yes, it does have some labeling many tourists into this category, even though again, it's  just a small percentage of all the tourists that come, mostly for the girls and food who don't cause much trouble.

Most likely Yaba, the Thai version of Amphetamines. 

We had one of these nut cases in the foyer outside of my condo office several months ago. He wanted to bash anyone who got near him. The office manager was in panick mode, as I know her well I told her to keep away and ring the cops. About 20 minutes later a young cop arrived on his motor bike and as he tried to pacify the nut case he copped a very heavy blow to the chin and went down. I said to him get help quick, he said ok. Ten minutes passed and the cavalry arrived 4 BIB's dressed in riot gear. They all attacked him and the shortest fat cop pile drove him into the tiled floor. Believe me that solved the problem immediately. He was then thrown into the cops pick up cuffed wrists and ankles and tied down as if he was going anywhere. He would've got a nice welcoming party when he hit the Pattaya police station. He would've had a memorable holiday in Pattaya that is if he's still alive. I was told later that the guy was Korean which wasn't that obvious as he was tall with a very solid build. As they say the bigger they are the harder they fall ( get dropped. )
