Supporting a rogue regime that even sank one of our own ships, killing 34 American sailors. Your bias and hypocrisy is on display again. You are bringing up a friendly fire incident from 1967. During that same era, there were 8,000 friendly fire incidents when the US military fired on its own personnel and positions. Hundreds if not thousands of US military personnel were dying in friendly fire incidents. A conservative estimate of US military friendly fire casualties is 10-15% in any given conflict. One of the biggest risks the Canadian military had in the Afghanistan war was that the US air crews were trigger happy and would strafe and bomb Canadian forward units. No one in the USA seems to be concerned over that characteristic of the US military. Even the most egregious and blatant of events was treated with arrogant disdain by the USA. On April 17, 2002, Major Harry Schmidt dropped a laser-guided 230 kg bomb on personnel from the renowned Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Battle Group who were conducting a night firing exercise outside of the conflict zone. The US military killed four Canadian soldiers and crippled for life eight other soldiers. The USA had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the investigation and although a US Air Force investigation found Maj. Harry Schmidt guilty of dereliction of duty, his punishment was primarily a written reprimand and forfeiture of $5,672 pay. Making matters worse, is that he was told to make sure that the target was not a friendly and to take evasive measures, rather than bomb the Canadian soldiers. The Major instead ignored the directive and launched his attack. Please don't lecture us with an event that has already been investigated multiple times and that has concluded multiple times that the Liberty event was a genuine error. The USA provides funds to Israel because it is the only reliable ally it has in the region. The 9-11 hijackers were Saudi Arabian. The financiers of terrorist supporters have been Qatar and the Gulf states. The entities which allow Russia to bypass US imposed sanctions are the Arab Gulf states including the UAE, Oman and Qatar. Israel is the entity which provides critical technological R&D and military R&D to the USA. It's medical and general science research is an integral part of US R&D. The day, Israel can no longer provide that knowledge or offer a strategic foothold in the region is the day the USA stops supporting Israel.

During the Cold War years, Israel was seen by the U.S. as a counterweight to the Soviet Union's influence in the region. The U.S. had reason to fear plans by Gamal Abdel Nasser of Egypt , backed by the SU, to limit passage of Western vessels through the Suez canal, thereby endangering the supply of oil to some Western nations. In general, various Arab groups with help from the SU, could topple the traditional ruling families and blackmail the U.S. for the oil it needed to keep the U.S. economy running. Or shut off oiul completely in an attempt to bring the U.S. to its knees. Push never really came to shove against the U.S. in the Middle East, but if it had, Israel would have been a strong, battle-experienced ally. It still is today and is a huge factor in preventing Iran from becoming more aggressive and expansionist than it is. U.S. aid to Israel has been very well spent.

However, only 300 of these trucks reached their intended destinations in Gaza during that period, with some 2,309 trucks being “intercepted” and looted along their delivery routes — undermining the recent claim of Tom Fletcher, the UN under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, that “the vast majority of the aid gets to civilians.” UNOPS’s data did not distinguish between the parties responsible for the interceptions, noting only that the aid was stolen by either “armed actors” or “hungry people.” https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2025/08/05/un-reports-88-percent-of-aid-trucks-slated-for-delivery-in-gaza-since-may-looted-along-routes/

October 4, 2025Oct 4 Has anyone seen any news that Greta has been released by the Israelis? When she was detained in June while aboard the Madleen, she was released and deported in less than 24 hours. Word at the time was Greta doesn't handle jail very well due to her autism and the Israeli authorities were scared she might have a total mental breakdown or even try to harm herself. The Israelis wanted to be rid of her ASAP. Maybe the Israeli government isn't showing her so much consideration this time? I saw on YouTube that four members of the Italian Parliament had been released and were back in Italy, but I haven't seen any other news about releases of detainees. I guess there were between 400 and 500 this time, so it may take awhile, assuming Israel chooses not to give any of them a jail sentence.

Sanchez you socialist fraud, will you do the honourable thing and resign at least. We will send naval protection to protect our citizens, all big mouth and then they disappear? Where is the Spanish protection? Spain did not have a legal basis to do so. In case you missed it, Spain has a problem with migrants arriving by boat. If Spain had intervened in a legitimate blockade to prevent possible war material to enter a war zone, it would have caused itself some problems. One of them is its failure to stop migrant boats because it says that it cannot interfere in international waters. The usual leftist groups in Spain are sympathetic, but the majority of Spaniards are not. They are dealing with the impact of Arab migrants now and their patience is tested everyday in some regions.
October 4, 2025Oct 4 Seems like Greta is not enjoying Israeli jail. Greta Thunberg receiving ‘insufficient’ food and water, ‘harsh treatment’ after arrest — report Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg, imprisoned in Israel after traveling on the Global Sumud Flotilla to break the blockade on Gaza, is being held in harsh conditions in an Israeli prison, according to correspondence between the Swedish foreign ministry and associates of the activist seen by the Guardian. “She informed of dehydration. She has received insufficient amounts of both water and food. She also stated that she had developed rashes, which she suspects were caused by bedbugs. She spoke of harsh treatment and said she had been sitting for long periods on hard surfaces.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/greta-thunberg-receiving-insufficient-food-and-water-harsh-treatment-after-arrest-report/ar-AA1NRD2M?ocid=msedgntp&pc=W230&cvid=009cd64c807f4cd5c992a44168858399&ei=27 The original article in the Guardian included these paragraphs: “They dragged little Greta [Thunberg] by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others,” the Turkish activist ErsinÇelik, a participant in the Sumud flotilla, told Anadolu news agency. The article also stated: "The Israeli embassy said the allegations were 'complete lies'. 'All detainees from the Hamas-Sumud provocation were given access to water, food and toilets; they were not denied access to legal counsel, and all their legal rights, including access to medical care, were fully upheld.'" https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/04/greta-thunberg-israel-gaza-sweden
