Bangkok’s Huai Khwang Police successfully recovered more than 200 collectible cartoon model figures valued at around 100,000 baht, returning them to a Chinese national after a case of mistaken theft. The items had been taken by a scrap collector who thought they were discarded during the toy’s owner house move. The woman later confirmed she would not press charges.

The incident occurred on the evening of 14 October 2025, when the Chinese woman went to Huai Khwang Police Station to report the apparent theft. She explained that several boxes of cartoon models had disappeared from the front of her residence on Soi Pracharat Bamphen 20, while she was briefly away for about 15 minutes to run errands during her relocation. Neighbours told her they had seen a man and a woman on a motorcycle collecting the items.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the area and identified two suspects who had arrived in a modified motorcycle cart used for collecting recyclable materials. Police traced their route and found them a few hours later at Chan Hun Market on Pracharat Bamphen 26 at around 00:05 on 15 October.

The suspects, identified as Mr. Chamroen and Ms. Saipin, were found in possession of several of the missing toy models. When questioned, both insisted they had not intended to steal the items. They explained they believed the toys had been left out for disposal, as the owner had previously given them clothes and other items.

Police escorted the pair to Huai Khwang Station, where the Chinese national. confirmed the recovered models were hers. After clarifying the misunderstanding, she declined to take legal action and officers recorded the event as a formal report. The situation was resolved peacefully, with all items returned.

Pol. Col. Prasopchok Iampinit, Superintendent of Huai Khwang Police Station, praised his investigation team for their swift response, noting that the recovery helped reinforce trust and goodwill toward authorities among foreign visitors. The police stressed the importance of verifying circumstances in similar cases to prevent unnecessary legal consequences.

I wonder if they're anatomically correct beneath the skimpy outfits?
