I'm sorry to be going over covered ground but the Visa rules are quite complicated and I for one am confused, I am looking for information on what my options are, my current situation is this:

I arrived in Thailand June 25th and got a Stamp stayed for 26 days and then exited,

I then arrived on July 23rd and have a flight to Manila tomorrow, I make this a total of about 54 Days.

I would like to stay until the end of November (if you include exiting every 30 days as staying)

What is the best option for me? should I apply for a tourist visa in Manila? before using up the last of the 90 days? What do I require to get a tourist visa there? will they treat the previous 54 days as part of any tourist visa? What extra would I need to show if I require a non-immigration visa instead?

I can provide proof of having capital behind me, but not of any concrete job offers.

You said you're leaving tomorrow but you want to stay until the end of November. When were you expecting to return from the Philippines?

You'll be limited to 90 days until January 23, so if you're going to be over by November, you'll require a tourist visa.

Don't bother with Manila. Trust me on this one, it's a total waste of time and effort.

The number one best option would be for you to take an Air Asia flight to KL, get a tourist visa there and fly then fly into Bangkok. The price of the air tickets combined (both legs) will actually be less than a Thai Airways or Philippines Airlines flight, and even beats a Cebu Pacific flight on price (provided you book ahead far enough to get the best prices). All you need to do is factor in the cost of accommodation in KL for either one or two nights depending on when you arrive there. You need to be there in the morning to submit your application, and you'll pick it up the next day in the afternoon.

Once you've got your tourist visa, you'll be set for 3 months without having to do a visa run. Just remember to get your 30 day extension at the end of the first 60 days at an Immigration Office (1,900 baht).

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the prompt reply,

I have a couple of reasons to be going to Manila anyway, I had the feeling as with most official things in the Philippines that this may be a problem. However, as I'm going anyway I will persevere and try this route anyway.

To compound matters my wife is a Filipina, which normally leads to even more strife, whatever happens I will document it and tell all what happens.

I have all the required documentation but I think I will run into the "Actually" syndrome that happens so often there.

If all else fails I will do the visa run to KL in a couple of weeks, not a bad place to spend a couple of days anyway.

Thanks for your help, wish me luck :o
