King Charles Heckled Over Prince Andrew’s Epstein Connection

Featured Replies

image.jpeg

King Charles was confronted by a protester regarding Prince Andrew's controversial ties with Jeffrey Epstein during a visit to Lichfield Cathedral in Staffordshire. The man questioned the King about his knowledge of Andrew and Epstein's relationship and probed about any possible police involvement in covering up matters related to Andrew. The King continued with his engagements amidst a mixed reaction from the crowd, including chants of support and calls for the heckler to "shut up".

Recently, scrutiny over Prince Andrew's connections with Epstein has intensified. Earlier this month, the prince gave up his royal titles, maintaining his stance of denying any misconduct. Video footage from the event showed the protester asking pointed questions, which King Charles chose to ignore while focusing on greeting his supporters. The incident comes in the wake of renewed attention on the scandal following allegations in Virginia Giuffre's memoir.

Virginia Giuffre's book alleges sexual encounters with Andrew orchestrated by Epstein, claims strongly denied by the prince. In 2022, Andrew settled a lawsuit with Giuffre, although he has consistently claimed he never met her. Controversy has also surrounded Andrew's financial situation and lifestyle, particularly concerning his low-cost lease of the Royal Lodge, leading to calls by the Liberal Democrats for a parliamentary inquiry.

Despite these mounting concerns, the government recently decided against allowing a debate in the House of Commons about Andrew's titles or his residence. Buckingham Palace has yet to remark on whether there will be any changes concerning Andrew's living arrangements.

Key Takeaways

  • King Charles was heckled over Prince Andrew's ties to Epstein.
  • The protester was met with both support and disapproval from the crowd.
  • Prince Andrew's financial and residential status continues to raise questions.

"NO KINGS"

Seriously.

Can a real Brit explain the policy on protesting against the Monarchy, Royal Family or King?

Is it allowed or prohibited?  What would the punishment be?

Enquiring Yank is curious.

Real Brits please.  Not the convicts from the Southern Hemisphere.

  • Popular Post

As a former non-convict of the former Southern Hemisphere colonies I can say that in both the former colonies and in the former Motherland you can say & publish anything you like about the Royals up to the same limits of defamation etc that apply to any other citizen. We're not talking Thailand here.

Let me guess, you’re Australian.  One that doesn’t follow directions very well.

The Donk attitude was the giveaway.

Thought you guys had a sense of humor.

Now, can a real Brit answer my question.

Hello old bean!  British chap here what!?

If someone from Blighty wants to say rude things about Charlie, than that's absolutely OK.  Perhaps the coppers will ask you to stop calling him a moronic <deleted>, but you can go ahead and say this because it's the truth what!

Anyway, toodle pip pip.... 🙂

To date.  A real Brit can’t answer my original question about protesting against their King.

Legal or not?

Maybe @transam can give an educated answer.  He is a bucket of knowledge on all things British.

I believe he was in the Queens choir to boot.

It is not illegal to protest against the monarchy.

Was a protest a few months ago when Charlie was displaying pictures...... Trooping the Colour or some such royal drivel.

AI Overview
While no major political party in the UK is explicitly called "the Republic party," the main group campaigning for a republic is the pressure group Republic. The most recent publicly reported figures, from after the May 2023 coronation, stated that its membership had reached 9,000. The group also reports having over 140,000 registered supporters.

It has NO members of Parliament but it is very vocal (they shout a lot).

That mat seem a lot until you consider the number of registered voters in the UK.

48,208,507
Registered Voters (as of July 4, 2024)

The republican party If its claim is correct has 0.0029% of the registered voters, IF they all vote in rgw same constituency and they would still lose their deposit.

Unfair to blame King Charles.

It's not like he pardoned his gun toting, crack smoking son after promising not to - like Joe Biden did.

I have heard it suggested that the British sent their religious fanatics to the Americas and their criminals to Australia. I have also heard that on balance the criminals "turned out better"!

Seriously, in answer to @Rocky Sullivan, we have a Constitutional Monarchy, along with Canada, New Zealand and Australia ( we share the same monarch) and a significant number of European Countries. That, in essence means that the King or Queen is the Head of State, but has no real executive power - reigns but does not rule. The American "No Kings" movrment is, as I understand it, a reaction to a perceived intention on the part of President Trump to usurp or take upon himself dictatorial powers, rather along the lines of a medieval tyrant - we rather put a stop to that with Magna Carta in 1214 - that was the start perhaps of several hundred years of a "work in progress" which resulted in the modern concept of a Constitutional Monarchy; so no we dont really have a "No Kings" movement.

We do have a republican movement, but they are very small. They are allowed to say pretty much what they like as long as they don't threaten violence. Nobody really takes much notice of them.

The bloke heckling King Charles in Lichfield was just a gob<deleted>e trying to attract attention to himself. The whole business is being exhaustively covered and discussed in just about every form of media; about the only channel not covering it, I would suggest, is Pornhub! Mind you, given Prince Andrew's reported propensity for orgies, it will probably pop up there in due course!

I have no problems with Aboriginals getting benefit's.

As for being racist your word abo is offensive to most of us, so best you try to improve your outlook on mankind or go out to Brewarrina and use that word.

If you are able, let us know how you got on from your hospital bed

You really think you can out banter me, Grumpy?

As a Yank, I never heard of the word ABO until I visited Oz and was introduced to it by your fellow countrymen.  Along with their hatred of those DARKIES that don’t work and live off the dole.

Their words, not mine.

Even worse attitude than the Jim Crow South.

As I recall a few posts back you referred to them as Neanderthals.  Then you state ABO is a racist term.

I must admit they are butt ugly.  Is that racism?

Go back to feeding the Roos.
