ICE Detains British Commentator Sami Hamdi Over Israel Criticism

Featured Replies

uh because his free speech rights are not the same as a American citizen may have and his speech apparently is being evaluated as being hateful or not in the best interests of America.  These things happen.  go ahead and criticize the monarchy in Thailand and after you get out of jail or back from being deported to your home country let us know how that worked out for you

However as a IK citizen in Thailand I CAN  criticise the USA, Israel, the UK or any other country including the Thai people, but not the Thai royal family, past or present, so I don't.

Sami Hamdi did not criticise a third country while he was in the USA, as he never formally entered the USA, he was arrested at the airport and never got the chance to say anything.

The USA needs friends and allies, more than Israel does, and this is NOT the way to get them.

Trump poses infinitely more of a clear and present danger to America than this guy. They just simply have a total and complete intolerance of criticism, or anyone who disagrees with their policies. Am

Indeed. MAGA keeps screaming ‘free speech!!!’ But what they really mean is free speech for me, but not for thee.

No. What we mean is "free speech for Americans, and not for people who want to come here spouting their terrorist-supporting garbage." And it doesn't matter what country they're from; this applies to British subjects just as it does to anyone else.

I voted for this, and I'm thrilled it went down exactly as it did.

It's not about entry it is about detaining/arresting hm and locking him up without water and consular help.

Oh noes! The little dear was locked up WITHOUT WATER! Perhaps Homan or Noem should have personally delivered him a bottle of Perrier on a silver tray... would you like ice and a little umbrella with that?

Y'all leftists still do not realize that previously effective emotional blackmail based on your warped, overactive sense of empathy no longer works now that the adults are back in charge.

Go to the wiki link I put a couple of posts above and you'll see the UK deports and bans from entry to the UK based on the very same reasons as Homeland Security gives for deporting the "commentator."

Jist because the USA and the UK do it, does not make it right or OK.

The open attack on First Amendment protection of speech really disturb me.  This essentially adds fuel to the "Trump Administration is Fascist."

Unfortunately, in this case I agree with the Left.

He did in fact enter the US on 19 October. His visa was revoked on 24 October, and he was detained on 26 October for removal from the US. His attorneys have challenged the removal, and that is why he remains in detention.

The US has officially designated Hamas as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). It did so in 1997, under Bill Clinton. Members and representatives of Hamas are legally forbidden to enter the US.

Visa revoked. Plenty of western countries do this or simply do not give a visa to people they deem unfit to hold a visa. This guy supports Hamas and was engaged in public speaking pushing his views. Visa revoked. Get out. Simple.

Anyone that supports Islam is an enemy of the western world and should be deported (if foreign) or jailed (if a citizen) as an enemy of the state or traitor

Thank you. I had not realised that.

Did he make any anti Israeli speeches in that time?

It's not a question of giving anti-Israel talks. At issue is that he is representing and endorsing Hamas, an officially designated Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US government, which prohibits his entry into the US in the first place.

You can shove those up somewhere of your choice, I am a free man and will never set foot in the US again.

Can you give me one example of the  ‘terrorist supporting garbage’ that he spouted?

Citizens: Speech is a right.
Visitors: Speech is a privilege. He’s learning that the hard way.

I'm sure ICE, are very happy

You just compared U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – the agency that stops child traffickers, fentanyl smugglers, and MS-13 killers at the border – to the Nazi SA, the brown-shirted thugs who beat Jews in the streets, burned books, and paved the way for Auschwitz. That’s not “edgy.” That’s not “free speech.”
That’s Holocaust trivialization. :whistling:

Buy who, officially designates a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US government.

Does that also mean that ABT member of an emergency ambulance or fire and rescue crew is automatically classed as a terrorist, even the guts that pay them?

That is the problem with having a non specific or blanket ban. Whilst it covers the people the people you want to ban, it also covers the people you have no need to ban.

“Propaganda”? No — that’s documented Nazi history. The SA beat Jews, ran Dachau, torched synagogues, and burned 25,000 books (USHMM, Yad Vashem, Nuremberg). ICE seized 27,000 lbs of fentanyl, rescued 1,100 trafficking victims, and arrested 1,800 cartel members (DHS, ICE 2025). Equating border cops with death-camp architects isn’t “criticism” — it’s Holocaust trivialization. You don’t get to invoke Auschwitz, then cry “propaganda” when the facts hit back. Stop dishonoring the dead. Start facing the truth.

Well, easy since you don't know what you are talking about. First I referred to SA with a good reason. While they were involved in the harassement of jews and opponents, they were exterminated by the SS during the Night of the Long Knives (June 30 to July 2, 1934. It was the SS, under Reinhard Heydrich who run the extermination camps. So your stupid hyperbole isn't even historically founded. As a Jew I know that part of the history quite well and I am fascinated by the similarities of events of 90 years ago. It is all so eerily reminiscent, and the mercenaries hastily recruited by ICE amongst a population full of hatred have exactly the profile of Röhm's Brown Shirts.

And by the way, there were probably a few criminals amongst the Jews beaten by the SA just as there were a few Narcos amongst the tens of thousands of innocent immigrants whose lives have been destroyed by ICE.
