The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has announced the completion of the demolition of the Samsen Police Station building as part of the ongoing sinkhole repair work. The agency confirmed on October 28, 2025, that work is now focused on soil surveys and temporary access improvements near Vajira Hospital in Bangkok’s Dusit district.

According to the MRTA, contractors are conducting soil drilling and quality testing around the former police station site to monitor potential subsidence and assess groundwater levels. These checks aim to ensure the area remains structurally safe during ongoing works. Continuous measurements are being taken to meet national engineering and safety standards.

In addition, construction of a temporary ramp is underway along the side road adjacent to the Tipangkorn Rasmichoti Building in front of Vajira Hospital. This access route is designed to ease traffic flow and pedestrian movement during the restoration of the main Samsen Road section. Once the temporary ramp is completed, permanent road repairs and surface reinstatement will proceed in accordance with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Public Works guidelines.

The MRTA also stated that all noisy construction activities have been suspended at night to reduce disturbance for nearby residents and hospital operations. Continuous inspections are being carried out on the nearby police residential flats and surrounding buildings to ensure structural safety.

Project officials emphasised that safety and speed remain the top priorities as the area’s traffic surface and infrastructure are gradually restored. The MRTA reiterated its commitment to completing the works efficiently while minimising the impact on the public and neighbouring properties.
