Is anyone experiencing problems connecting to Skype at the moment from Thailand? I haven't been able to connect for about 2 hours and all other services work fine, I even tried disabling the firewall ...nothing.

Yes it's not just Thailand. I'm in a Skype chatroom with members worldwide and everyone's having problems. Other platforms are also down so its a bigger problem than just Skype.

Ah great. I don't spend time in Skype chat rooms so I didn't know if it was just me or not. Funny enough, my mom who's about 15km. from me also connected to True Internet has no problems with Skype, but she can't reach any website, email, etc. :o

I am on True and have noticed Skype trying to connect for a few minutes several times today (normally never happens) but have not had any problem with other programs which were still connected when Skype out.

Just checked and I don't have a problem for to place calls to whom is online. I also called a friend to hims Landline via Skype and no problem.

But him's Skype isn't working! So there should be somewhere a problem.

If someone want to try to reach me via skype, my skypename is reimarthai.

made me just look at skype and notice that it was trying to connect - it was working fine earlier today.

TRUE seems to have been fiddling with its bits the last few days trying to control bittorrent , so I wonder if it is spilling over to other p2p protocols.

They do have problems everywhere in the world. Even in Isaan with TOT as the provider.

I read somewhere that up to now they (Skype) used a loophole of Microsoft and since that loophole got closed by Microsoft with their recent update

Skype has run into problems.

Software flaw shuts down Skype telephone service

By Brad Stone

Friday, August 17, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO: The online telephone service Skype was not working for much of the day Thursday, leaving its 220 million users, some of them small businesses that had given up their landlines, with no way to call colleagues, customers and friends.

Executives at Skype, a division of eBay that is based in Luxembourg, said its engineers worked throughout the day to bring the service back online. But they said that while they had pinpointed the source of the problem, they still did not know why it had resulted in a network failure, and they could not ensure that the service would run smoothly.
