Authorities have raided a factory in Bangkok producing kratom drinks mixed with sedatives and cough syrup, seizing assets worth over 320 million baht. The operation, conducted on 11 November 2025, led to the arrest of four suspects: Veerachat, Rodarat, Netnapa and Saichon. The suspects face charges of illegally selling controlled substances, including Alprazolam, Diazepam and Zopiclone, for commercial distribution.

The raid targeted a facility located on Soi Udomsuk 51, Bangkok, operated by a network connected to previous seizures of exported controlled substances. On 14 June 2025, authorities intercepted Category 2 substances bound for the United States and other countries, prompting further investigations. This led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of drugs, documents and assets valued at 200 million baht.

Investigations revealed the network supplied Category 2 and 4 substances to local pharmacies, targeting foreign tourists, youths and nightlife visitors. The suspects had allegedly operated the factory for over two years, mixing cough syrup and Tramadol with flavoured kratom drinks sold under the “Phai Singto” brand. Products with added sedatives were sold at higher prices, with over 1,000 bottles produced daily.

Officials highlighted that Tramadol and other substances are strictly controlled by the Thai FDA, requiring authorisation for production and sale. The authorities confirmed the seized products will undergo verification to determine whether they were imported or produced domestically. Police continue to interrogate the top distributors to trace the origin of the drugs.

The operation is part of a wider crackdown on cross-border controlled substances. Authorities plan to expand investigations to identify and apprehend other members of the network. Follow-up actions include further raids, asset seizures and potential international cooperation to prevent illegal exports.
