Destinity

Featured Replies

Hello  big question for today, be sure I am not crazy or delirious

. Is destiny predetermined? Is everything just chance? Do we feel like something is pulling the strings, as if we were puppets?

I had 58 years ago a very strange experience and I wonder if we have free will ( Google translation , the French expression is " avons nous le libre arbitre ) ?

Is something ( or someone ) decide for us  ?.

What are your ideas about this ? i have noticed that AN members have ideas for everything 😀

Excellent question.

I firmly believe that there is neiter total pre-determination, ie total destiny, nor total free-will. i do think things are pre-written. I'ts inevitable to conclude that, some people are born poor, others into Royalty, so clearly predetermined fates exist.

To what degree...THAT my friend, is the question.

If you are a very religious man, you may have to think that all is pre-determined, as God is all powerful and therefore nothing happens without his will. Kismet in another religion. Karma in another.

The philosopher Nietzsche already showed us that eternal recurrence is a logical necessity, if time is infinite and the energy is finite, all possisble permutations must already have happened an infinite number of times.

On this matter, we can only believe though, our minds are not designed to elicit the full truth of this. Which is why the Buddha passed on this question. We will find out after we die.

The human species was genetically modified to have an enough intelligence to farm and reproduce and propagate life. When the population of the life forms on the planet that is palatable to the genetic modifiers reaches its desired peak level, they will come and pull the planet out to deep freeze space for storage and consume at a later time. They will pull another planet in this orbit and start the process again. Think of the Milky Way as a big farm, that’s what’s all about, nothing more to it than that.
