So, after years of massive numbers of immigrants under Tory governments, Labour shows a decrease.

The AN right wingers are danger of spraining their brains doing mental gymnastics to try to explain THIS away!

Immigration is still above trend by year. There were peaks above that in 2022/3 due  to the war in Ukraine.

Why would that be? If the economic situation is worsening why would the be less of an outflow of the not so wealthy? If anything, those will lower disposable income than the super wealthy would feel more pressure to leave.

Simply because for the wealthy it's more achievable to move and resettle due to the cost and resettlement requirements, in alternate countries.

But that's always been the case.

The posts you’re repeating are rooted in a racist conspiracy theory. The idea of a “great replacement” is not supported by evidence - it’s a narrative created by far right Tommy Robinson type extremists to frame immigration as an attack on “native” people. It treats British citizens as a racial group rather than a national community, and it dehumanises migrants by suggesting they are part of some organised effort to “replace” anyone.

Calling people “boat people” is also a racist dog-whistle. It reduces real human beings - many fleeing war, persecution, or poverty - to a stereotype. Britain has a long history of immigration, and its culture has always evolved through mixing, not through racial purity. Claiming that culture or social responsibility only exist in “homogenous societies” ignores the reality that countries like Japan have completely different historical, economic and demographic contexts - and even Japan is experiencing cultural and demographic change.

You forget that you are an immigrant yourself to Thailand, yet they deserve white ones that come here to work.

British workers are not “paying for their own replacement.” The economy depends on migration: the NHS, construction, agriculture, hospitality, logistics, and social care all rely heavily on immigrant labour. Without it, the system would collapse much faster.

What does damage community cohesion is promoting fear, racial hierarchy, and conspiracy theories. Britain is not becoming “an island of strangers” - it’s becoming the same multicultural, resilient, constantly-evolving society it has always been. The real threat is not migrants, but divisive rhetoric that pits neighbour against neighbour based on race or origin.

There is enough evidence that mass immigration into the UK has now reached the point where most Britons are weary, quite fearful and increasingly angry about it. Look at the crimes committed by immigrants recently and the demonstrations near the migrant hotels, the cost of which is ultimately paid for by those paying UK tax.

Britain does have a long history of immigration, which was successful when the scale was smaller. However, now assimilation is far from complete due to high rates and numbers, many with different cultures. A high percentage of recent arrivals are on dependency visas, they won't be contributing to, but rather further draining the economy.

To point out the unlikelihood of the possible explanation you proposed.

Destroying the UKs economy and making there be no work or jobs available was  masterstroke by Labour to stop illegal immigration .

How come the Tories didn't think of that ?

HA ! HA ! When a Government hires a company to do a study or servey the perimiters that they set always give a result that they want...or they never get another contract.

Ha! Ha! You have no idea of how it works!

BTW, the ONS does not chang its methodologies when governments change!

Net migration to the UK has significantly dropped by two-thirds in the year ending June 2025, according to provisional figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS)

Labour were elected on 4 July 2024. Which policies did they introduce during their first year that managed to reduce net migration by a third in real time? 🤔

More likely it was the Tories' 'Safety of Rwanda Act', which became law in April 2024, that was responsible.

All Brits living abroad need to go home and reclaim the UK

Not all Brits. Just the flag-waving, visa-exempt abusing little Englander's who can't see the irony of their perpetual bellyaching about how dire it is back home, while flaunting the rules and regulations of other countries. The least they could do is make an attempt to use their hard-fought winter heating allowance.

HA ! HA ! You have no idea how it works do you? The ONS in not contracted to do a survey. It doesn't get given, or isn't paid for surveys on a case by case basis. It has a statutory mandate to produce certain kinds of statistics regularly, under the law that established its remit.

And it is 100% independent and is overseen by the UK Statistics Authority, a non-ministerial government department - which means it does not report to, or answer to, political parties or ministers. Its independence is built in to its very fabric.

So I am glad you found something funny but you have only exposed your own ignorance.

Edit: oh I see @candide got there before me and even used the same words!

Yes Zaphod - the use of the 'net migration' term is a PC attempt to obfuscate.

What we are concerned about is called 'IMMIGRATION' and we don't want that factor distorted by 'migration' trends - it's woke gone crazy.

'Net migration' is a total misnomer - because, it's always 'NET IMMIGRATION" - the bl**dy opposte !!!!!!!

Use of this term has been institutionalised, to the shame of the UK's media and politicians.

You mean just as use of the term "immigrant" has become institutionalised by Yaxley-Lennon, Farage et al to be a blanket, negatively biased way to dehumanise a whole group of disparate people.
