A 29-year-old man was killed when his pickup truck collided with a large fuel tanker, spilling 41,000 litres of diesel across a road in Kamphaeng Phet on 30 November 2025. The collision occurred as the man was returning from a friend’s wedding, causing major traffic disruptions and emergency response efforts.

Police were notified at 19:20 that the incident occurred on the Phahonyothin Road, near Moo 8, Pak Dong Subdistrict. The pickup truck, a black Ford 4-door registered in Bangkok, was completely destroyed, trapping the driver inside. The tanker overturned, leaking its cargo across the road and blocking traffic entirely.

Emergency responders could not immediately reach the injured, prompting the deployment of nearly 10 fire trucks from the Pak Dong municipality and nearby areas. Firefighters sprayed water and foam to prevent any possible ignition, before rescuing two injured individuals from the fuel tanker and transporting them to Kamphaeng Phet Hospital.

The deceased, identified as a local man from Thep Nakhon Subdistrict, was extracted from his vehicle after nearly two hours using hydraulic rescue equipment and with the assistance of a crane. Family members were distraught, describing how he had spent the day helping at a wedding in Wang Sai Subdistrict before the fatal journey home.

CCTV footage revealed that the pickup truck entered the main road at high speed without braking, colliding with the fuel tanker. The impact caused the fuel tanker to flip and spread diesel over a wide area. Authorities from the provincial government, emergency services, police, and local municipalities were deployed to secure the site and restore safe traffic conditions.

Khoasod reported that diesel continued to leak after the crash, requiring continuous foam spraying until the fuel was fully safely contained and the truck removed. Officers maintained on-site supervision until the following morning to ensure safety and prevent fires.
