Japan has donated 7 million baht in relief items to Thailand to assist with flood recovery efforts. Japanese Ambassador Otaka Masato handed these items over to Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at Government House. The gesture reinforces the strong ties between the two countries.

 

The relief support follows severe flooding in southern Thailand, prompting a quick response from Japan. Alongside the ambassador, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) head Shunsuke Sakudo and several Thai government officials attended the handover ceremony. Japan learned their lesson after giving cash for the tsunami relief back in 2004.  Now it's tents and water filters that were (hopefully) manufactured in Japan so that Japanese businesses also benefited.
