A fire tore through a commercial warehouse on Phet Kasem Road in Bangkok’s Nong Khaem district at 02.20mon 7 December, causing extensive damage and prompting a prolonged emergency response. Fire crews battled the blaze for more than three hours before finally bringing it under control. No injuries were reported and the incident left surrounding residents alarmed in the early morning hours.

Police confirmed that the warehouse had been rented by a Chinese investor who used the facility to store imported goods intended for online retail distribution. The premises were unstaffed when the fire started, as the incident occurred during the public holiday weekend. Officials at the scene said there were no immediate signs of foul play, but the building’s condition made it difficult to assess the origin of the flames.

Authorities cordoned off the area to allow firefighters and investigators to work safely. Large quantities of stored merchandise were destroyed, though officials have not yet provided an estimate of the losses. Police noted that the high fuel load from the stockpiled goods may have contributed to the intensity and duration of the fire.

Khoasod reported that the Forensic Science Division has been assigned to conduct a detailed examination of the site to establish how the blaze began. Investigators will review structural damage, analyse debris and check for potential electrical faults or other ignition sources. Police will also interview the warehouse’s operator to confirm the inventory stored and any recent activity at the site.
