Is cash and bank visa etc not simpler than all this QR scanning crap for restaurants....?

 

It seems its 5 steps to pay with QR vs 1 with money or a visa card and I was told I was not "keeping up with things" by refusing all that QR crap that never existed as much a few years back...

Where I go for my evening pint, it is an area for folk who want to exercise, some buy a 5bht bottle of water wanting to pay by QR code and phone......😟

It's fun doing the shopping these days, at the cash register queues, in the long lines waiting for the people paying with these stupid QR codes 😡

You forget change ..... Very few people carry the exact money.

And security........ Nobody can steal from your QR code or your QR 'till'.

You don't know the code behind the pictogram, can be malicious software instead of a payment thing.

Don't think my banking app accepts anything but payment information.

QR system works great here, you just need to get the phone app ready in advance of your turn at the checkout, then it's quick otherwise it's equivalent of someone searching around their purses for change.

 

Sometimes i use contactless which is much quicker and easier

Agree, it's "being ready" that seems to defeat so many.

 

I get the app ready whilst in line or while the pretty is scanning my stuff.

Total - scan - beep - done.

 

Then I get behind someone who needs help opening their banking app, then they can't find the "scan" option (it's on the first screen), then they don't have sufficient balance, then ...

Also loathe restaurants that want you to view their menu digitally because they are too futuristic to print a damn paper menu. 

It's nice to have the option but cash is so much quicker and easier.

Very slow getting stuck behind some granny who can barely see or operate a phone messing about with qr
