Gordan Ramsey you legend.

He will cook anything which makes him money. All these TV chefs are actors who know their way around Tesco's and then the kitchen.

Are baked beans actually baked?

He is quite a character. I met him at his Hell's Kitchen in Dubai where my sons sing at the brunches.

It is not the ratio's of the various essential nutrients (within reason!) that determine if you gain weight... it's the overall number of kilocalories consumed while meeting the body's needs in terms of vitamins, fiber, minerals, etc.

Takes one to know one.

However I can assure you that you need Specsavers.

I can carry on tit for tatting with you until 10pm when Man City play.

So say what you need to say before then please. Get it all out of your system.

Time to cook a curry!

Are you a total moron Harris. Read earlier when I said 'my sons'. We are men, and love each other.

Sorry, I did not need the first question, as most of us know the answer.

Peanuts are beans. Peanut butter is refried beans, mashed beans with sugar.

Bean and cheese sandwich.

Use for making tacos.

Not really, peanuts are difficult for the body to digest and assimilate the nutrients. May as well eat cardboard.

Several options in Thailand for PB with no added sugars.  Tida's Bears (made in Thailand) is my favorite that is available at Rimping in CM for about 170฿/kilo.

Gemini says:

Factors Affecting Digestibility and Nutrient Assimilation
  • Fiber Content: Peanuts are high in fiber, especially insoluble fiber. While beneficial for gut health, consuming a large amount of fiber at once, particularly if the body is not used to it, can cause temporary discomfort such as gas, bloating, and stomach pain.
  • Cell Wall Structure: Nutrients in whole peanuts are encapsulated within rigid plant cell walls. This structure resists digestion in the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract, meaning some fat and other nutrients may pass through the body unabsorbed. Crushing peanuts into butter or oil increases nutrient bioaccessibility by breaking down these cell walls.
  • Protein Digestibility: The "true protein digestibility" of peanuts is high and comparable to animal protein.

Get it right, a while back you said cooking was a waste of time.

Nutella is NOT a healthy food. Mostly sugar and palm oil, with a hazelnut wafted over the jar before sealing. No it has 13% nuts.

In America the PBJ is a staple food stuff. Half a teaspoon of Skippy with how much jam?

The chocolate dissolves because of all the 5h1t in it.

Nobody who eats Nutella is looking for health advice!  🙂

Now if Nutella was Nigella, that would be something quite more tasty. 555

Man City game at 9pm Thai time - wouldn't want you to miss the first half! One less hour to endure 'Arristwat's inane drivel so that's a plus.

Are there no local brands of peanut butter in Thailand....the ones i see in supermarkets are absurdly expensive imports.

There are. I bought unsweetened 100% peanut butter several times in Tops and Foodland. I think Lazada sells them as well.

My favorite locally made is Tida's Bears brand of natural PB.  Reminds me of Adam's from USA.  Available at Rimping in CM in creamy or crunchy versions.  Look for 1Kg bags on the very bottom shelf where the expensive imported sugar-laced brands are located.

OOOOH thanks, yeh it's the 3pm matches at 10. City is 2pm in UK. Thank you. Time to make a peanut butter sandwich, and an hour less to banter (is that the right word?) with the aforementioned Member for Stupidtown!

Unfortunately, I am not in CM.

Salt only... 1kg comes in a plastic bag.. they do sell some Tida's in a jar but the price per kilo is much higher.

Since we shipped a 20' container when we moved here from US we brought along 3-4 empty glass Adam's PB jars.  A 1kg bag of Tida's fits perfectly into one of those.  My wife loves the Adam's jars for keeping the humidity from ruining her dry cooking ingredients.

At least you now know the brand name and the type of package to look for.  I never looked online.

You can buy Mason type jars in Lotus's, and they keep things dry.

I use square plastic 1 kg containers to keep flour, sugar etc in the fridge. They fit together better.

I no longer remember who suggested that I try a sandwich of PB and lettuce.  It sounded interesting so I tried it.  I quite enjoy the slight crunch of the lettuce and the moisture it brings.  The very mild flavor of the lettuce doesn't interfere with my enjoyment of the whole wheat bread and PB.

Not all calories are equal. Just look in the mirror, if you aren't overweight you don't have to worry too much

Thanks for that information.  I didn't realize that food labelling doesn't accurately represent the calories that the digestion system is able to use from the food item.  The labelling guidelines should be changed to account for the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF).

For instance the body expends about 25% of the caloric intake to digest proteins, 5-10% to digest carbs and only 3% to digest fats.
