Looking forward to the MAGA fanboys supporting the rights of posters who hate on Trump when he for once in his life does the right thing and drops cold.

You can hate on Trump all you want, have at it. Sometimes, well rarely, it is even rather clever. Mostly just the usual simple and hateful stodge though.  And if he doesn't live out his full term in office, you can happily turn your invective on the newly appointed President Vance.

This total lack of grace that Trump showed in his so-called "memoriam to Reiner" shows just who he is once again. Such a low LIFE, such gutter junk, and such a trailer park, white trash mentality. It's at the shame at this moment in time that America has a goon like him representing her.

Indeed.

Now, how about spending a little time on the victim? Tell us your favourite Reiner film, what you thought about his art, etc? Me, I lked Misery. It showed a breadth of skill I didn't know he had. Before that, I saw him more as a deft comedic talent, but I was proven wrong.

Won't be the same, and thankfully so. The MAGA movement will die with Trump. No other politician has that connection with the people with six teeth that fiercely support the people with six yachts.

He's trash as are his supporters.

I always refuse to go there, I think it's too personal. I have a lot of friends and family members that support Trump and I would never refer to them as anything but kind, loving people. I don't understand their choices, and I don't understand why they support this circus clown, but I respect them and refused to demonize them.

I don't hold back when it comes to criticizing him, but I tread carefully when it comes to criticizing his supporters.

You mean the "leader of the free world" once again showing he has no brains, class, soul or morals? I think that's noteworthy, buddy!

If you had any respect for Reiner you'd be discussing his life's work, his family, loved ones left behind.

But No, all you can do is use it as an excuse to attack Trump.

Now, his death will be forever intrinsically linked to Trump's comments. Well done. I'm sure Reiner would be delighted.

See, that was fairly clever. Bravo!

Vance, I see him as more right wing than Trump in many aspects. As to the Maga movement, it may be destined to die out, much like the Tea Party.  It will be a challenge for the next GOP leader to try and put together a similar coalition again.

And as many of us know that would be infinitely worth than Trump himself, Vance is an absolute clown and a total pretender.

I find it deeply ironic, and quite sad given the affliction that Reiner was suffering from, that on the day he is murdered by his own son everyone is more concerned with what Mr. Trump said about it.

Talk about rent free...

Just what aren't you not getting here?

No one and I mean no one would have said a word about Trump if he hadn't inserted himself into this trajedy with his usual me, me, me nonsense.

You lot will defend this man no matter what. It's really pathetic.

Maybe it’s because what Trump said about the murder is the subject of the thread you are posting in.

This is spinal tap, a few good men, the wolf of wall street. But yeah, Misery is probably his best IMO, not least because of Kathy Bates. Never was a big James Caan fan.

A wise man would have ignored his comments and focused on the life and works of the man himself and those he left behind.

Alas, we are dealing with rabid Liberals. So well done. Bravo. It's now all about Trump.

Many people think "The Princess Bride" was Reiner's greatest work, and certainly the one with the most quotable lines.  What do you think?

A wise man once said:  Nothing.

Many decades ago my Mum fav me some very sensible advice that most of my life I have r=tried to keep.

If you have nothing good to say about a person, then day nothing.

A simple piece of advice, that Trump should take note of and be aware of every single day of his life.

Good to see you taking my advice.

Too late of course. But better late than never. 😄

Gotta admit, I liked Caan getting his ankle bashed... same as when he was machine gunned in The Godfather.  Very unlikeable characters getting their just desserts.  He always seemed stiff and uncomfortable to me.

It's OK I already seem to have changed the direction of this one.

For the better I might add.

Yes, it will just die out without anyone actually helping it along, just like the Tea Party. Vance is a strange one, and he seems to have completely shifted personality after mixing it up with Peter Thiel, and his group of weirdos.

Vance is definitively more right wing. I don't see Trump as a person that has any political convictions at all. It's all transactional.

The OP is entitled 'Trump says Rob Reiner died of ‘Tr@mp der@ngement syndrom@’

If it was 'Tell us your favourite Reiner film' then you'd get a different viewpoint. Do you get how that works?

And there we have it in a nutshell. This idea the the USA needs to be 'saved' and Trump is the only one to do it and it doesn't matter how it is done and the manner it is done as long as it's 'saved'.

So in your not so humble opinion, what EXACTLY is Trump doing that is 'saving' America? (shall I guess the first one has something to do with immigrants?)

Whoosh. Can y'all *ever* stay on topic?

Trump made a vile statement. That doesn't make me wish Harris had been elected, or change my political alignment. Expecting that it would is unrealistic and childish.

I get that you would like to keep bashing on about "b-b-but Trump said...." for the 4,621st thread here.  But I would like to derail it and instead talk about the loss to the world of Rob Reiner and his artistry.

'A wise man would have ignored his comment' 🤣😜

You don't even see the irony in what you are saying. One last time for the hard of comprehension. NO ONE would have breathed a word about Trump if HE had ignored his own ego and just simply offered his condolences. He's the goddam POTUS and should be showing dignity and sympathy with this horrific incident but no, not Trump- he just HAD to get a dig in.

It's all the left have.

Their policies have been proven failures, so now they just attack the individual instead.

Like going after Farage for what he might or might not have said in the playground 50 years ago as a 13 year old boy at a time when the black and white minstrels was the most popular show on TV.  😄

Like you, nobody cares about these silly attacks. Destined to fail.

So just brush aside the horrible words the president of the United States said about someone you admire?  Perhaps you should begin to look at who you support in American politics. Think about it.

And now Reiner's death is all about Trump.

Because of obsessed lefties like you.

Trump sends his thanks.  😀

Then you should start a thread about that. The topic of this thread is is:

Expecting that you would look for a POTUS to have some integrity and decency seems to be the unrealistic part here, clearly demonstrated by your admission of a 'vile statement' - one of literally hundreds he has made since he unfortunately jumped from TV reality star to main protagonist.

You are the very epitomy of identity politics - backing anyone regardless of their character as long as they are NOT Harris or indeed any Dem.
