The current discourse, which I read today, surrounding the war in Gaza highlights a massive disparity in international attention and value. While the loss of any life is tragic, the threat to a ceasefire over a single missing hostage stands in stark contrast to the catastrophic reality for Palestinians, where tens of thousands of women and children have been killed and tens of thousands are presumed dead under rubble. Add on how many thousands of children have no school to go to, have been orphaned and will suffer PTSD and other psychiatric illnesses in later life. The figures, reported by international health and human rights organizations, underscore a humanitarian disaster that most genocide experts and Human Rights Agencies call genocide.
