He could have sworn in on a copy of Mein Kampf but a safer choice would be any Enid Blyton 'Famous Five' novel.

But, he choose the Koran .

What is your choice of a suitable book for an elected person to put their hand on while swearing an oath of office? And why do you consider your choice as suitable?

Ill-informed nonsense.

The same god is worshipped by Jews, Christians and Muslims.

They don’t all agree on God being revealed through Jesus Christ, rather Abraham and they don’t use the same name for the same God.

You say the difference in Gods is ill informed because you are challenged and it defies the new age muddlers of theology that seek to emphasize commonality over unique difference. Because the religions are all monotheistic and share some historical heritage does not mean that they worship the same God. Your argument holds that because there are many people worshiping one God it must mean that it is the same God. No, no , no.

Don't use the jews to provide cover for your claim about Islam. This is about Islam and Christianity. Christianity is a religion of salvation, and Islam rejects this outright. God is revealed through the Bible. Islam rejects the teachings of the bible. Worse is the distortion of a critical characteristic of the faiths that impacts who their God is. The Quaran holds that that Abraham’s promised descendants come through Ishmael, not Isaac, as the Christians do. The Quoran even declares that their God is not the compassionate and loving entity as stated in the Bible as per Exodus 34 6-7, or John 3.16.

More importantly, the New Testament is explicit in its statement that Christianity is a continuation of Judaism. In Acts 21 to 24, Paul provides a lengthy statement that Christianity has the same God as Judaism. Read Romans 9-11. It states that the Christian and Jewish God are the same. Islam rejects this. It is blasphemy.

What's going to be next from you? Claiming that Jesus the Judean was a palestinian?

Perhaps Trump should have been sworn in on his version of the Bible.

The almighty dollar.

The words of a white supremacist who utters pure nonsense means nothing to most of us. He is not Christian. So what? The bible means nothing to him. So what? Such idiocy, and such hateful pettiness. The enemy is at the gate?

Perhaps Tuberville is the enemy. Of democracy. Of harmony. Of a Christian spirit. What a complete goon.

Islam is NOT the problem. Radical Islam is the problem. Big difference. Something must be done to keep out the extremist super freaks. Their religion may work for them in Saudi, Kuwait, Yemen, Sudan or Somalia. That same ultra conservative fanatislcism, is not wanted, needed, nor desirable in Western nations. Only moderates need apply should be the policy. And there should be a standard of willingness to assimilate, and the burden should be on the family to prove the burden is met.

I believe immigration policy should be reformed to the point where it should be staged over 10 years, and all Muslim families should show a willingness to assimilate. I also believe that families with Muslim daughters who are teenagers can start by proving that they have  participated in a 2 piece bikini contest, and for teenage boys they must show a burden of proof that they're not affiliated with any of the local madrasas. Are we serious about keeping our nation's safe from extremists, or not?

This will probably be interpreted as a racist statement but for a long time I've been saying that immigration criteria for Saudis should be unique and singular and far strictly then normal immigration for other people from other parts of the world

It must never be forgotten that but Saudi's practice the most extreme form of Islam, a hateful and horrific interpretation that is completely intolerant of other religions and is the exact opposite of what most of us would regard as any kind of positive faith.

Huge and very strict restrictions should be put on their ability to immigrate, essentially they are not wanted and they are not needed, and for the most part they are not of any benefit to a society that let them in, as it is very unlikely they will ever integrate. Why am I anti Wahhabi? Why do I think all Saudis should be barred worldwide from immigrating to any nation? Why do I consider the Saudis so dangerous to mankind?

It is an ideology that divides the world into the realm of Islam and the realm of the infidel, or the realm of war. So it trains the readers that they live behind enemy lines – they must be passing through, they cannot take abode here. You only have two reasons for being in the land of the infidel. One is to convert people to Islam. The second is to acquire either money or skill which you can bring back with you to help you and others engage in jihad, and in this context, it is quite clear that they mean that in a military sense, because they go on to talk about tanks and bullets, and things of this kind. One of the things you certainly cannot do is become an American citizen, because no Muslim can be ruled an infidel.

That is the particular ideology which is being taught. You must not have any good contacts, warm relations with anybody – not only with unbelievers, but with any Muslim who is not of the Wahhabi type; they are also often denounced as apostates. That is the major theme of concern in that report.

Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville has attacked incoming New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani for choosing to be sworn in on the Quran, calling it a sign that “the enemy is inside the gates.” Tuberville made the remark on X, sharing a New York Times story about Mamdani’s decision to use multiple Qurans for his ceremonies.

Obviously Tommy Tuberville doesn't take his oath to defense the Constitution of the United States, including the First Amendment protections for the freedom of religion.
If that was me, I'd be swearing in on the Buddhist Tripitaka. So Tommy Tuberville is anti-Islamic. He should remove himself from office.

Mandami swore on a book that calls for violence against unbelievers. All Muslims are anti Christianity. They should all resign.

Radical Islam isn't a problem.

Like Syria's President Al-Jolani:
Yesterday - killing US soldiers and chopping of the head of those he called "apostates."
Today - All forgiven - now playing basketball with Pentagon generals and rubbing shoulders with the US president himself.

Yesterday - Islamic radical
Today - Freedom fighter

Really - terms like Radical Islam and terrorists mean nothing. They are political contrivances meant to stoke hatred when it is in the interests of the United States.

Like the Torah's perspective regarding the unchosen goyim? I'm assuming that you believe that politicians should only swear on a Bible or a Torah. In my opinion that is the epitome of religious intolerance. But it seems to go hand-in-hand with far-right ideology in the US. Some politicians are now openly stating that the United States "is a Christian nation."

Assuming. Got it. So tell us what the torah says about non jews? Kill them unless they convert?

The USA is a judeo Christian nation. Not a Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist one.

Check out the Torah, Dude.

If one swears (not that kind), one should swear on something one actually believes in. It would have been hypocritical in the extreme for him to swear on a Bible.

I presume it is the same for court cases, or perhaps they simply affirm.

I think there's an even chance a young, smiling, cheerful mayor could revitalise New York and perhaps even US politics in general. I hope he does and is not hogtied by racist politicians like Tuber-ville. Once a tuber, always a tuber (and I don't mean YouTube).

I'm surprise that more politicians don't swear on The Satanic Bible.

Why should I do that ?

What would be the purpose of doing that ?

Put a Socialist who has never accomplished anything in his life in charge of the biggest city in the USA. What could go wrong?

Alternatively, folks can temper their views. Dont you beleive in rehabilitation and/or reform. Even Salmon Rushdie was a devout Muslim, still is. There is a difference between Pope Leo and Arnaud Amalric.

What about it?

Presumably any Jewish politician, when being sworn-in, uses the Torah ... does that also make them enemies of the USA, in Tuberville's eyes ?

The important thing is surely, that the person doing the swearing respects/embraces the sacred-writing of their choice, and is therefore reluctant to lie while swearing their oath ?

Non-believers, as we saw demonstrated last January, might only pretend to lay their hand upon the holy-book.

We arent Europe. Besides once they get out of their ghettos where they are pandered to by the Socialist America haters and grifting community leaders, they become Americans. Thats why they try honour killing their daughters. And Mia Khalifa was hot...

Arnaud Amalric

The blood thirsty monk who coined the phrase "Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius" more readily understood as "kill 'em, let God sort them out!" - the fundamentalist of his day.

And Trump swore on a book that demands adulterers be stoned to death.

Is Tommy Tuberville driving up to Mar-a-Lago with a pick-up truck full of rocks?

Please do a little research before you post nonsense. You apparently know nothing about the countries history or the people who founded it, including the founding stock brought from Europe which were the dominate population until that stated to change in the 1960s.

Even the only other non-white population which is included in the founded are STILl overwhelming Christian.
