Bangkok Metropolitan Police have dismantled an illegal “zombie pod” production operation after raiding a house in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, arresting three men and seizing large quantities of equipment and finished products. The operation targeted the manufacture and distribution of so-called “pod K” products, which were allegedly being supplied to partygoers across Bangkok and surrounding areas.

The raid took place on 9 January 2026 following an investigation by Metropolitan Police Division 5, which traced a suspected network involved in producing zombie pods. Officers identified suspicious activity at the property and obtained a search warrant from the Nonthaburi Provincial Court before moving in.

The operation was ordered by Pol Lt Gen Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Pol Lt Gen Noppasin Poolsawat, Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau. Senior officers overseeing the case included Pol Maj Gen Phallop Aemlamla, Pol Maj Gen Witthawat Chinnakam, Pol Col Phopthorn Jitman and Pol Col Rattawir Sookcharoen, with investigators led by Pol Lt Col Nithet Phuangphila.

During the search of the Bang Kruai house, police found three men inside the property, including two Chinese nationals and one Myanmar national. Officers also discovered equipment used for production, chemical ingredients for making pod K and a large quantity of finished pods ready for sale.

Initial questioning revealed that the Chinese suspects had rented the house specifically to use it as a production site. The finished products were allegedly distributed to customers in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and neighbouring metropolitan areas, with a focus on partygoers.

Police said the investigation began after officers from the Crime Suppression Sub-Division of Metropolitan Police Division 5 followed leads linked to the zombie pod network. Surveillance and intelligence gathering eventually led investigators to the Bang Kruai location, which was believed to be a key production hub.

All suspects were taken into custody along with the seized evidence. They were handed over to investigators at Plai Bang Police Station to face legal proceedings under Thai law.

Khoasod reported that authorities said further investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the network, including possible additional suspects and distribution channels. Police are also examining financial and rental arrangements connected to the property to establish whether others were involved.
