Trump de-escalates: Vows Calm in Minnesota After Shooting Shock

Featured Replies

President Donald Trump pledges to "de-escalate" tensions in Minnesota following the shocking fatal shootings by federal officers. In a fiery interview with Fox News, Trump slammed the incidents as "terrible," hinting at a strategic pullback.

Two US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were fatally shot by immigration officers, igniting national outrage and sparking protests. Pretti's shooting, especially, set off alarm bells across the country, forcing the Trump administration to reconsider its operations strategy in Minnesota.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem painted a stark picture, labeling Pretti a "domestic terrorist" who "wasn't there to peacefully protest." She claimed he wielded a gun during his confrontation with officers. But eyewitnesses challenge this narrative, insisting Pretti held only a phone, not a weapon. What's the truth?

Social media is ablaze with debate, as BBC Verify confirms no gun was visible in Pretti's hand. The plot thickens with a Customs and Border Protection report apparently contradicting Homeland Security's claims, failing to mention any reach for a firearm.

In a dramatic twist, the Department of Homeland Security pulled Gregory Bovino, a key Border Patrol official, from the scene. Now, Tom Homan, the White House's border tsar, steps in to defuse tensions. Homan's meeting with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz adds a layer of intrigue to the unfolding drama.

The shooting's ripple effects aren't just local. State and city officials demand the withdrawal of a staggering 3,000 immigration agents from Minnesota. Trump, however, defends his crackdown, citing improved crime stats and promising that all will "work out" with Homan at the helm.

Stephen Miller, a pivotal White House aide, underscores the administration's focus on deportation. He hints at a shift in tactics, emphasizing the need to protect arrest teams. But is this a veiled acknowledgment of protocol lapses?

Support isn't unanimous. Even some Republicans demand answers. Vermont Governor Phil Scott and Senator Pete Ricketts call for a full investigation. Ricketts, in a blistering post on X, demands transparency, echoing the public's thirst for clarity. A federal judge has stepped in, blocking any destruction of evidence.

As protests continue, Trump remains firm in his immigration stance. At a recent Iowa rally, he championed his deportation drive, bolstered by an 80% approval rate in a Harvard Harris poll. The President's words signal strength, but will his actions quell the storm?

Key Takeaways

  • Two shocking shootings stir national outcry!

  • Conflicting reports fuel fiery debate—was Pretti armed?

  • DHS reshuffles amidst soaring tensions and calls for withdrawal.

Trump's de-escalation lasts less than 48 hours. He has not changed and back to his usual verbal attacks on Minnesota officials, jeopardizing attempts to de-escalate tensions between his administration and the state's leaders. Trump's words are just a load of bull domestically and internationally.

kristie noem seems to be back-pedaling faster than trump, quoted as saying she is simply following orders from trump and miller.

ICE Agents Spark Diplomatic Incident in Fresh Headache fo...

President Trump’s masked ICE goons have sparked fresh embarrassment for his administration after they attempted to gain access to Ecuador’s consulate in Minneapolis. Video footage shared on social med

This crisis is just beginning and is not going to go away anytime soon. Trump deeply miscalculated the tolerance of the public for this type of gestapo style nonsense. Civil liberties are taken very seriously by most Americans including a vast majority of conservatives.

Most of us are in agreement with arresting illegal aliens who have criminal records. But harassing and killing American citizens who are protesting is descending to an entirely new level, which will not be tolerated by the American public. That is a new form of domestic terrorism being committed by ICE.

The downfall and dissent begins in earnest. Goodbye Don.

Sens. Thom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski called for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign Tuesday, making them the first Republicans in Congress to say she should step down.

Asked whether he had confidence in Noem, Tillis, R-N.C., told reporters on Capitol Hill: “No, not at all. I think she should go.”

Tillis, who is not running seeking another term in Congress, said some of Noem's actions reflected "amateurish assistant-manager-sort of thought processes," calling them "unacceptable" for someone in a Cabinet-level position.

"If I were in her position, I can't think of any point of pride over the last year," he said.

The White House on Monday distanced itself from Noem’s remarks, with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt saying Trump “wants to let the facts and the investigation lead itself.”

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., sidestepped Tuesday when asked if he has confidence in Noem.

All true. I think Trump has a pathological need to poke people in the eye. He's been doing it since day one of this term. Remember "Gulf of America?" Why go through the cost, irritation, and deliberate provocation that caused? Why? All because he enjoys being a troll and nothing else. Since the Gulf incident, it's been non-stop. Maybe he has a plan??? Just to wake up every day and do his damndest to destroy everything about the country, internationally and domestically. I really would feel better if I found out he had a brain tumor, because 1) that would explain the madness and 2) it might get the cabinet to act and remove him under the 25th. The country can't take three more years of this lunacy.

Think what he's done in just the last month. Turned immigration upside down. Was humiliated over the Greenland fiasco. Saw Canada thumb its nose at him, following his threats. Did another round of tariff threats and then retreats. Attacked Nato. Insults and alienates the Danes. And gratuitously insults the military contributions of the Allies after 9/11. Left Iranian protestors to be killed after he urged them on with promises of help. I guess he's warming up to destabilize Japan and the Pacific next. And 31 baht to the dollar.

That defence worked well at the Nuremberg war crimes trials.

Trump does not deserve his name on a plastic outhouse, much less the Kennedy Center. He has done absolutely nothing to deserve this honor, and self honoring oneself is not exactly considered an act of nobility.

On a daily basis this man demonstrates additional levels of goonery, clown like behavior, and utter absurdness. What an incredibly sad and pathetic example of the human species he is.

Americans should be recoiling in horror at this demonstration of self aggrandizement, certainly the world is looking on with astonishment at the shame he is bringing upon a nation that used to be fairly great, but has descended into a land of chaos, mass murders, political division, shootings, criminality, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, silly levels of real inflation, and diminished influence.

The honor and the pride is completely gone, right out the window. Trump is trashing everything America used to stand for.

The original Nazis tried that defence. They were still hung for their crimes.

She knows she's going to be tried and found guilty.

In a nutshell he is the product of getting away with that kind of behavior since infancy with a healthy dose of wealth to protect him from the consequences…….now the magga fools gave this specimen the keys to the government……god help us all.
