Boat Down.. Dozens Missing..

Featured Replies

Just caught some info.. Breaking news but not much hard facts so far..

Krabi to Phi Phi.. 100+ on board.. capsize and sunk with "dozens missing" according to news snippet..

Dire news.. So soon after the ferry fire also.

First reports in interview on TV11 in Thai with Krabi's governor Siva Sirisaowalak saying Thai boat possibly chartered from Krabi to a Phi Phi temple sunk, but 38 Thai people on board the boat, including four crew members, had been rescued.

We hope to get more info and update in English on Andaman News TV11 VHF dial tomorrow at 8.30am

IF you have other first hand info photos or video, please send before 8am to Andaman [email protected]

I hope that it's correct too. Is it likely to be misinformation though?

What is worrying is the quotes basically say "all 38 people are found" and also that "searches will continue in case there are more still missing" all in the same piece.

So which is it ??

this isnt good news. lets hope that the reports will finally come through with some accuracy and that nobody perishes in this tragedy.

See this same topic in the Krabi Forum, there's more (conflicting) info there from the newspapers

The latest we have heard is that it was a dive/snorkel boat from a company on Ao Nang. Do not want to mention the company/boat name in case of misinformation but the supposed good news is that everyone has been saved. Hope that this is true.
