Have you considered that the claims made are an attempt to deflect responsibility for the atrocities from the Serbians and their sympathizers who were intentionally killing civilians? All three warring factions used mercenaries, many of whom were seriously disturbed individuals. It was documented at the war crimes trials that the Serbians used paid mercenaries and volunteers from Russia and elsewhere, and JNA personnel from Serbia and Montenegro. The senior leadership of the JNA was Serbian and it helped to transfer/transition the JNA personnel into the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) and the Army of Serbian Krajina (SVK). Multiple JNA officers were charged with war crimes. Colonel Mile Mrkšić, commander of the elite Guards Brigade during the Vukovar operation and Major Veselin Šljivančanin of the Guards Brigade, are two of them. One need only look at the conduct of the Wagner mercenaries in Ukraine and Africa to understand what the Russians were capable of. The concentration camps, massacre of Bosnian men and boys and the systematic rape of young children and women was a Serbian initiated event and hangs like a dark cloud of unaccepted shame over Serbia today.
