Ukraine has suffered enough. This is a sound and very equal plan.

As long as Russia compensates Ukraine for rebuilding.

Ukraine had legally binding peace deals before Russia took Crimea. Peace deals mean absolutely nothing. Boots on the ground is the only guarantee.

I don’t now if this proposed deal for USA security guarantee is any different to an earlier one? Under an earlier version Putin could stage a false flag operation and tell the USA Ukraine has violated the agreement attacking Russia. In those circumstances the USA would not be required to defend Ukraine. I wonder, would Trump want to spend USA money on defending Ukraine, or would he rather make trade deals with Russia.

Also there was a similar guarantee when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons, which turned out not to be worth the paper it’s written on.
