The Royal Thai Navy has used Chuk Samet Port to welcome a Singapore Navy warship participating in the joint military exercise Cobra Gold 2026. The vessel docked at Pier 4, Chuk Samet Port, Sattahip Naval Base in Sattahip district, Chon Buri, on 15 February 2026. The arrival marks the start of Singapore’s involvement in this year’s iteration of the long-running multinational drills.

Captain Sakchai Chanphueak, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Amphibious and Service Support Squadron, represented the squadron in formally receiving the Republic of Singapore Navy vessel. The visit forms part of the joint and combined exercise Cobra Gold 2026. The exercise is recognised as one of the longest-running multinational military drills in Southeast Asia.

Cobra Gold plays a significant role in strengthening security cooperation and building confidence among participating nations. It also aims to enhance interoperability and operational readiness among armed forces taking part. The Royal Thai Navy stated that the participation reflects Thailand’s preparedness to train and develop joint operational capabilities with partner countries.
