Calling all cars…privacy not included

Have a look at this dystopian piece of propaganda.

https://news.sky.com/story/autonomous-robo-taxis-now-driving-themselves-on-british-streets-13531630

"The Waymo Driver was involved in 92% fewer crashes that cause serious or fatal injuries compared to human drivers where we operate," the company said on Tuesday.

It has previously emphasised other benefits, such as privacy in the car, and peace of mind and security for female passengers.

"Our sensors are able to perceive the world around them, much better, much more accurately and with more of a field of view than human drivers can," Nicole Gavel, head of business development and strategic partnerships at Waymo, told Sky News in January.

The cars, were she added, able to achieve a "superhuman level of perception".

so there is 'privacy' in the car with 'superhuman perception' naaa don't think so !

more like big brother spying on everything. 🤮

Hey all those nothing to hiders lookey here

https://theautowire.com/2026/04/20/every-new-car-could-become-a-surveillance-machine/

By 2027, every new car sold in the United States could be required to actively monitor the person behind the wheel. That means watching your eyes, tracking your behavior, and constantly evaluating whether you’re alert enough to drive. For a lot of drivers, that starts to feel less like safety and more like surveillance.

If it saves lives through people nodding off, then it's absolutely worthwhile. We have it already.

Nobody is forced to buy a new car!

That's why I only drive motorcycles.

I find it comforting to know that if I nod off, the car will wake me up.

There will be no tracking in my car ..it doesn't even have central locking, electric windows or an airbag !!!

Oh, it's sounds like you have a pre 1996 model.

It's not an either/or. It's a question of how much surveillance we're willing to allow into our lives. Screwing somebody other than our wife in the backseat? What about drinking--will our cars tell us when we over the limit and automatically disable the car and notify police?

No its a year 2000, I simply don't believe that every car since 1996 incorporated a cellular tracking device too expensive and not enough coverage..highest end cars possibly had such a device.

But what is for certain is that all new cars have this and much more intrusive tracking, surveillance and even self driving features lane correction auto park etc soon to be connected to a social credit and carbon tax score database for even more control over when, where, how far and how long you can drive your own vehicle 😒

Yes ! they want total control...to protect the 'children' the children of course being you me and every other adult on the planet.😋

What's wrong with that? How many people die on the roads each year from drivers falling asleep, or microsleeping? If your car can alert you that it's about to happen how is that a bad thing?

My car has had that function for years. Any use of technology to improve safety is welcome.

No its the very slippery slope towards the digital dystopia.

Big Brother is watching you everywhere, including in your car.  Surveillance on wheels. Every car since circa 1996 has incorporated a cellular tracking system with modems and concealed antennas. They sell them to you for ‘emergencies’ and ‘roadside assistance’. Look how modern you are! A bigger question is, why does your car need Internet?

Your claim is false

You should have posted

Many vehicles made since the late 1990s, especially after the 2010s, include telematics systems with cellular connectivity that can transmit vehicle data and sometimes location information.

You mean the living thinking human being that falls asleep or gets drowsy and causes up to 6,000 AMerican deaths per year?

And you are against preventing that because of............digital dystopia??

Love history, and Philly was a great place to grow up learning. Ben, and another Philly boy with tidbits of extreme wisdom. Visited his tombstone, and surprised, though glad, it wasn't a big tourist attraction. Would knock around the city and visit all the things we learned in history class. Way too cool, and involves the whole region.

Just a little off-topic. My son lives in PA and he took me to see the Liberty Bell, safely behind a bulletproof shield.

Family in front of us was from Brooklyn and we offered to take their photo. Father complain, "Oy vey, there's schmutz on the glass!" Pretty funny...

Which essential liberty are you giving up by having your car alert you when it detects you're driving like someone who needs a rest?

The right to privacy ? amazing you don't realise this or even seem to care.

Anyway I'm sure you'll love the pay per mile and lower insurance premiums that will follow with this intrusive surveillance model along with the instant fines for any traffic violations even minor ones.

They call it 'big brother' for a reason he knows better than you you are the subordinate who must obey.

Go and watch the classic move Demolition Man for a slight clue.
