56 days in jail, for a tweet, and I agree ... utter nonsense, and yet .... it happened.

A tweet ... let that one sink in.

We’ve established, with linked official court records that Liam Stacy was not jailed for ‘A tweet’.

Do want to take the opportunity to retract that demonstrated false claim?

  • Not anymore. Humor in the UK is now outlawed. Iconic comedians now fear prison. https://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/2172006/john-cleese-worried-Labour-govt-terrorist

Fact check - absolute blocks. Do you know anything about British comedy? You are exposing yourself as an ignoramus who clearly has no clue what happens in the UK.

Jeez, Express and GB "News" links. John Cleese was a brilliant comic and writer back in the day. Sadly now he is a washed up racist conspiracy theorist and has been caught out numerous times forwardi

Ooh yes.

Or Joan Rivers on Trump, and the cuck Stephen Miller.

Joan Rivers paid an awful price for commenting on big Mike.

The problem with British Comedy is they don't do Irony or Sarcasm

Just over the top slapstick, and parody.

Monty Python was brilliant though especially the naughty bits. Imagine seeing this as a little kid in US on newly launched "cable TV"

  • The Topless Newsagent (Flying Circus): In Season 1, Episode 6, a topless newsagent (played by Sheila Sands) works in a shop, acting as if her state of dress is entirely mundane, while characters interact with her without breaking character.

Posting on Twitter is considered, called a 'tweet', so yes he was, by offending people with a tweet.

How are your cherries there?

Why not post other excepts form the judgement document? I know you hate cherry picking so assumed you cut only that bit out by mistake.

I accept, English might not be your first language.

BTW humour is in the UK is not outlawed. And we still don't need canned laughter to tell us when something is supposed to be funny

There is literally this thread running concurrently about a hero policeman (stopped yet another islamic killing spree) fired for making jokes about pikeys on a private whatsapp group.

I think you are still thinking that all we produce is Benny Hill.

I'd go as far as to say us Brits invented sarcasm and irony in comedy as is evident in -

That's the whole point of freedom of speech / expression. Being allowed to say, what other may not agree with. UK law, dictates what is offensive, or if someone says they are offended, then just on that fact, it might be in violation of the law.

That's not freedom, that's censorship.

Us Yanks, will never agree with what everyone states, thinks, expresses. But we tend to agree, you're allowed to state, think or express those thoughts. If you offend someone, oh well. As long as it's not libel or slander, it's not illegal.

Being offended is a feeling and it is different for everyone. You cant give offence you can only take offence.

"Are You Being Served" was a curiously frequently requested show on PBS in the Southern States among middle aged women. They also find Keeping Up Appearances more funny than it actually was.

Interesting comparison between Steptoe and Son and Sanford and Son

A total distortion of the case. He was reported by a fellow officer on that group. He wasn't cracking jokes.

Obviously you've never watched Blackadder, Yes Minister, the original The Office, Peep Show, The Thick of It, Spaced, Fawlty Towers, Alan Partridge, The League of Gentlemen.

Americans don't understand sarcasm nor irony, so all they remember from Fawlty Towers is Basil goosestepping.
