Thailand's Commerce Minister, Suphajee Suthumpun, has addressed the public, urging calm as the government closely tracks energy prices amid the ongoing conflict in Iran. The backdrop to this situation involves rising tensions due to the Iran war, which have potential impacts on global energy prices, affecting consumer goods costs. Minister Suphajee emphasized the importance of official updates and briefings to keep the public informed and prepared. The government is assessing the situation daily to adapt strategies accordingly and minimize negative impacts.

Suphajee also addressed concerns about the work-from-home measure, initially implemented for civil servants. She noted that it serves as a progressive move for agencies to optimize technology and remote work processes. However, she acknowledged that it should be balanced with practical considerations, as not all employees can work from home.

Fears regarding stockpiling and increasing prices of oil and fertilizer have been met with assurances from the government. Minister Suphajee highlighted that Thailand has sufficient oil reserves for over 90 days and is actively seeking additional sources of supply. The Energy Minister has communicated ongoing efforts to provide alternative energy sources and to keep the public informed through daily briefings.

Looking ahead, Thailand aims to mitigate impacts by adjusting fuel formulas, such as biodiesel, and increasing ethanol blending in petrol. These measures reflect the government's proactive stance in managing energy resource challenges while maintaining stability for consumers, reported The Nation.

I am wondering where she studied, as she has no clue what she is talking about... Everything, but everything will be more expensive, Even an egg, transportation costs will rise, so chicken food will get more expensive, and there for the eggs, and they have to be transported too to shops which costs again more expensive energy so really everything will rise..Rice fields need be watered, goods must be transported from a to b and as we can see already Thai Airways raised their prices with 10-15%, and maybe it is temporarily but nevertheless everybody will feel it.. So it will not only be energy, but also production/ transportation etc... even if it is only inflation it will cost more... Pity she doesn't understand this
