TM30 online vs handwritten version at Jomtien – both required?

Featured Replies

This question may already have been asked, but I am wondering about what happened to me at Jomtien Immigration this morning.

This was in the context of applying for a 60-day extension based on marriage (which was approved).

I had a TM30 submitted online, with the document titled (in Thai) “สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง หลักฐานการแจ้งที่พัก” (Immigration Bureau – notification of residence), which I understood to be perfectly valid.

During the pre-check, this document was accepted without any comment. However, I was then directed to the other room (the one handling both 90-day reports and TM30 matters) to complete an additional step.

This makes me wonder whether, at Jomtien, the online TM30 is considered valid but still not sufficient on its own, and whether they also require the traditional handwritten TM30 receipt to be issued and kept stapled in the passport.

In other words:

Has anyone been asked to provide or obtain a handwritten TM30 at Jomtien, even after already submitting it online?

Is this a local practice, or just a case-by-case requirement?

Any recent experiences would be appreciated.

Hopefully folk that deal with Jomtien will advise.

That office (not the only one) can be fussy with TM30 requirements.

By way of unrelated example for my annual extensions at CW I obtain a new tm30 for my application.

Sadly sometimes it's down to document check staff.

Yes, Jomtien sends everyone to get "their" TM30. Even if you have proof of the TM30 that was done online, you still have to go wait in line to get another one issued by them. It really makes no sense at all, but has been that way for a while. Maybe another opportunity for them to more closely scrutinize it in a specialized area to issue fines.

Crikey that sounds like a nightmare - (I have seen Jomtien ImmiG up close). But I do my TM 30 at Chanthaburi and the paperwork is mindboggling ! You have my sympathy - good luck !

(BTW last time I was away, with Missis, she checked in/out so no TM30 - sweet. If I travel alone, I have to do the TM 30).
