The Pentagon may have violated U.S. rules of war by relocating troops from military bases, targeted by Iran, to civilian locations like hotels and offices in the Middle East.

This relocation occurred in response to Iranian retaliatory missile strikes against U.S. bases, which began after U.S. missile strikes.

U.S. Law of War mandates that military forces distinguish themselves from civilians to minimize casualties and property damage, though it acknowledges this may not always be feasible.

The conflict has resulted in over 300 American service members injured, at least 13 killed, and approximately 20 U.S. aircraft damaged.

I thought this summed up Trumps actions very nicely. “For the world there is no longer any such thing as American credibility, just a strange reality television show in which the main actor swerves,

Hegseth (former Fox host, no prior executive military/policy experience at this level) has drawn sharp criticism for hawkish, religiously infused rhetoric: praying for "overwhelming violence" against Iran's "enemies of righteousness," framing the conflict in end-times/Christian nationalist terms, pushing "maximum lethality" over legal constraints, and dismantling some civilian-harm protocols.

Dangerous extremism that could influence targeting or escalation.

I did post elsewhere about Hegseth ranting and raving about the war and as you say "praying for overwhelming violence on Iran's enemies of righteousness", obviously trying to appeal to the far right religious extremists in the GOP and MAGA, and hoping they will believe he is a true Christian!

I did see a very useful comment, which I can't find now, in which Hegseth was spouting forth "the word of the Lord" as he saw it and claiming the righteousness of the war, when a Democrat suggested that he couldn't have been looking at the holy Bible and following its righteous path, when he had impregnated his first wife and then had an affair with another woman who he impregnated whilst he was still married to the first woman – – surely not the actions of a devout Christian – – yeah right!!!!

A brainless hypocrite and then some, more like another muppet from the Trump administration, following on from the chief muppet and his warped beliefs.

Just throw it on the pile with all rest of the illegal stuff they have done and continue to do with impunity.

Yes, but he is right that Iran are religious fanatics that want war to bring about "Armegeddon".

But if Hegseth is also being driven by Biblical prophecy, that might be scary.

But he might just be joking and mocking the Iranians.

It might be in jest. Hard to know for sure.

The Trump administration has framed the war on Iran as a fight against dangerous extremists who want to bring about end times. “We’re fighting religious fanatics who seek a nuclear capability in order for some religious Armageddon,” Hegseth said of Iranian leaders during a CBS interview, for example.

Yes or no.

Don't overthink it.

A little bit is still a yes.

The question requres 'over thinking' or what the rest of us term, a little thought...

Will he Invade 'mainland Iran' ?... No - I don't think so.

But, he might need to put boots on the ground on the Island of Qeshm - and which is a little different.

It can be reached with easy by supply chain from the UAE, Oman and Saudi.

The main infrastruction and ground installations of Qesham can be taken out first, then a ground invasion will be required to take out the underground infrastruction, missles, weapons strorage etc - in doing so, freeing up a significant part of the risk to shipping through the straights.

So - the question runs 'deeper' than the surface implication of 'invasion of Iran'...

Another poll should be, "Will the US or Israel nuke Iran." Personally I'm afraid there is a significant chance that will happen imho.

Your talking about Christian Dispensationalists like Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson and the rest of the Christian religious fanatic crazies in Congress who want to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque and build "The Third Temple" in order to entice Jesus to return. There is no Shia eschatology about bringing about Armegeddon. That is 100% a Christian dogma belief and it explains why many US congressional members are so hot for war in the Middle East. Where did you come up with that nonsense, really?

This really is the problem. People making up stories about those whom they personally hate in order to foment more hatred.

who do I personally hate?

So an Iranian woman is attacking "Stop bombing Iran" protestors.

She's on board with bombing her govt because her govt is evil.

Trump gets all the hate.

Including some Europeans on here bashing every move he makes.

Here Viktor Orban is saying the EU is stupid for fighting the Ukraine war and should have ceded to Putin's requests.

Not saying he's right, but just saying.

He'll have to invade.

The pressure from the MIC, his oligarch cronies, and Israel is just too strong.

It's now or never to go for Eretz Israel and seize Iran's oil fields.
