Is the war ending ???

Iran agreed to ceasefire?

Trump is calling for "A Golden Age For the Middle East".

The purpose was to get Iran on board with peace and be a normal country rather than radicalized fanaticism.

Thanks for deflecting, I hadn't expected anything else from you. The point is that Israel breached the conditions of the ceasefire already in the first 5 hours, and is still breaching it.

What have you ever done in life apart from sit in your basement and change your AN ID every time you are barred and make the same repetitive asinine and insulting posts?

This war was over before it started. Going back in after the initial bombing of the underground uranium sites, (June 2025) shows the ignorance and arrogance of the administration.

A little additional clean up on 3 March 2026, maybe, but anything else, just stupid.

“The Iran–U.S. Ceasefire terms are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a social media post.

Sporadic fighting continued throughout the region, including in Lebanon, where Israel launched its largest assault on the country since the start of the latest conflict, escalating the campaign against Iran-backed Hezbollah. Iranian officials cast that as violating the terms of the day-old agreement.

In a separate post, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf cited fighting in Lebanon, an alleged drone incursion into Iranian airspace and the “denial of Iran’s right to enrichment,” saying that such conditions make a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations “unreasonable.”

No, it shows that Trump lied in June, well everyone knows he actually lies 24/7/365, about all was obliterated.

You are so intent on blaming one group of people, that you are blind to iran's history of deceit and role as a state sponsor of terrorism.

I don't know what it is about Asean Now that it attracts so many mentally ill people. I think it is time to start a thread on the subject.

My reference is to direct USA involvement with Iran.

Israel will continue their never ending land grabs for the expansionist zionist. Why not, the do what ever they without consequences.

Hopefully Iran has a nuke hidden somewhere. One can only hope.

It's too bad that they don't make treaties to fall under the nuclear umbrella of Pakistan and/or Russia and China. Given the highly aggressive nature of the US and Israel, small countries either need nukes or nuclear umbrella treaties.

Bad news for you.

Elon Musk is predicting 2 consecutive terms by JD Vance, not one.

A prediction is just that, meaningless maybe.

But maybe JD Vance will finish what Trump is starting, whatever that is.

We should definitely begin with the case of people who calls others mentally ill because because of disagreeing about the issue of the Iran War.

Elon Musk was predicting that Teslas would be self driving by 2018

I asked Grok, Musk’s “truth-seeking AI”, to list all of the CEO’s timelines for Tesla achieving self-driving and then compared them to reality:

2015: Predicted full autonomy by 2018.

https://electrek.co/2025/02/10/elon-musk-masterful-move-goalpost-tesla-full-self-driving/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

In fact, Musk is widely ridiculed for the failure of his predictions to come true. So this is probably bad news for Vance.

Elon Musk doesn't seem to be a good judge of people. He is quite skilled in finding engineers and scientists who can take his ideas and actually find ways to do them, but Vance? All the charisma of stale Melba Toast. I'm not even sure Vance's wife would vote for him, he's so dull and colorless. He'd be invisible without his eyeliner.

The US needs at least two strong Parties, ideally one just left of center and one just right of center. Bush I-style Repubs and Bill Clinton-style Dems. No extremes.

The US is served poorly by the primary system, though I cannot think of an alternative. Trump won in 2016 because the other rational candidates cancelled each other out, and there were enough crazies to give Trump a plurality. The US, and the world, suffer even today as a result. Jeb was boring, but he probably would have been a decent POTUS. The Repubs currently have a few rational people like Thomas Massie. A few others are also fairly mainstream, but they're cowards. Massie is bright, and he has a spine. The Dems have a few up and comers, like Josh Shapiro, Jason Crow, & Elisa Slotkin.

The US really could use a few years of boring. Biden was pretty good at that, albeit somewhat unintentionally due to his cognitive issues. Once Biden got the Trump-deficit-driven inflation under control ($8.4 trillion in new debt in Trump 1.0), the economy did quite well, particularly in terms of job creation.

One thing I knew full well, while serving in a branch of the foreign service, is that NEVER will there be peace in the Middle East. I think it's just dumb luck that the Bible had Armageddon starting in the ME, but it's one thing that religious text probably got right.

In 10 years, Saudi, Qatar, the UAE and Iran will join Israel as nuclear powers. There is no way to stop it. "Mow the lawn" all you want, but just as North Korea eventually developed nukes---which is a deterrent to doing what might be morally correct to that country---so will other nations, including the major ones in the ME. (Perhaps more germane to the membership here, Myanmar will have a nuke in 10 years, too. Back a decade or so ago Myanmar was being advised by North Korea on how to enrich uranium and how to construct a bomb. That may have been shelved post-SPDC, but it will return.)

Relations between the various ME parties might fluctuate, but underlying hatred and mistrust will never go away. It won't matter who started what, as nobody there is innocent.

So make up your mind.

Should a leader have charisma or not?

Charisma is probably helpful for a politician/country leader but it is not an adjective that can ever be applied to that heap of !!!!!!

Isarel has stole millions of acres of land since 1947 - they are common land thieves backed and supported by the US. Imagine someone comes to your house and nicks your garden or at worse at gunpoint drives you out of your legally owned house- welcome to Israel aka occupied Palestine.

The 1947 Starting Point (The Blueprint)

In 1947, the UN Partition Plan (Resolution 181) proposed dividing Mandatory Palestine:

  • Jewish State: Allocated 55% of the land.

  • Arab State: Allocated 42% of the land.

  • Jerusalem: To be an international zone (Corpus Separatum).

  • The Reality: At that time, Jewish land ownership was approximately 7%. The Arab side rejected the plan, leading to the 1948 war.

Correct the path to nukes for ME countries is now agiven and just a matter of time. You could also add Egypt and Turkey to that list as well , Russia are helping them with their civil nuclear programmes.

It appears like the previous goons were the biggest danger.

It seems Trump is trying to break the cycle of controlling the Middle East and starting wars whenever it was profitable to do so.

Let's see what happens.

Wow. Did you write that all on your own?

No, a disagreement over the Iran conflict is not mental illness. Rather, the constant imagining of scenarios and presenting them as reality and expressing obsessive hate is.

Vance is an odd one but I wouldn't underestimate him. He had a away of cutting through things in the 2024 election and speaking very clearly on things like immigration and the economy and on effectively attacking others including European allies. . When Trump is no longer a candidate he will not have to be nearly as extreme though - as his trip to Hungary shows - he is pretty damn far to the right.

I think he's terrible - not sure how he is seen by the broader public now - I could see though that he could pivot away from Trumps worst actions including tariffs and the current war - and he's smart enough and articulate enough to knock a few holes in a weak Democrat candidate and remind people why they voted Republican in 2024.

Sure. We should all be mentally healthy like Donald Trump and company who didn't envisage that Iran would actually shut the Strait of Hormuz or launch attacks on the infrastructure of its neighbors.
