I’ve cleared it up Nick, explicitly so.

Refer above.

Yes , you said you were referring to the Nazis

"The ‘many’ using this excuse were Germans, civilians in nations occupied by the Nazis and to a troubling extent governments of the allies."

Then you said you wasn't , then you said you was again .

You made an anti semitic statement, own it

Nonsense.

I was making a very overt reference to the denial excuse many used in the aftermath of the Holocaust referenced in the OP.

So, you wasn't making a reference to the Nazis , you were making a reference to the Holocaust ?

The Nazis and the Holocaust are two separate unconnected things ?

Once again misrepresenting my statements.

You really do need to calm down and stop arguing with the views you invent on my behalf, it’s not healthy Nick, really weird behaviour.

That just doesn't make any sense at all

I asked you two questions .

I didn't misrepresent your statements or invent views on your behalf .

I asked you 2 questions to clarify your view .

Questions that you didn't answer .

You mentioned the Holocaust , then denied making any reference to Nazis .

Tell me please, are you really surprised to see antisemitism is making a comeback?

Yes, in fact, I am. I'm not surprised that anti-Israel sentiment has surged, but I had not expected Jews outside Israel to suffer harassment or physical violence because of the Gaza war. I mistakenly believed we had come further than that in combating the world's oldest hatred. Sad, very sad. ☹️

2016, long before Israel engaged in the genocide of Palestinians.

To keep things in context: Nick's headline refers to the definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance in 2016. At that time, the IHRA, an intergovernmental organization, had 31 members; today it has 35 full members, one liaison member and seven observer members.

The IHRA definition included 11 examples of antisemitic statements, one of which was, "Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis." That has proved controversial, as some observers believe it conflates opposition to Israel and Zionism with antisemitism.

The IHRA was founded in 1998 by then Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson to improve education and awareness of the Holocaust and antisemitism. He had been prompted by the low level of knowledge of the Holocaust among Swedes, especially school children. Persson gained the support and cooperation of U.S. President Bill Clinton and U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair, with other Western countries joining to make the IHRA an influential intergovernmental body. You can read more about the IHRA on its official Web site:

https://holocaustremembrance.com/

Forty-seven countries have adopted the IHRA's non-binding working definition of antisemitism. Hundreds of governmental and non-governmental agencies, bodies and groups in many countries have also adopted it, including 39 of the 50 U.S. states. You can see an extensive list here:

And to steer this thread back on track, here's even more evidence the warning in the OP is justified:

Attempted arson at London synagogue is 3rd attack on Jewish site in past week: "Sustained campaign of violence"

An arson attack caused smoke damage at a synagogue in North London overnight, just one day after a similar incident in the city and the third such occurrence this week, British officials said Sunday.

The fire caused minor smoke damage to a room at Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow, London, according to the Community Security Trust, which provides safety advice to Jewish groups. No injuries were reported.

It's gotten very serious when antisemites begin attacking synagogues.

I'm not at all surprised that diaspora Jews are being attacked more in response to Israel. I also think very few non Jews have sympathy for diaspora Jews situation now Zionists are saying move to Israel now for safety. Not sure if that makes sense.

Some good news among all the depressing stuff. The U.K. handled an arch antisemite in the best possible way- authorities hit him in the pocketbook. The U.K. made it impossible for Ye to "monetize" his antisemitism.

U.K. issues Ye travel ban over antisemitism, leading to festival cancellation

Updated April 7, 20265:31 PM ET

The rapper and fashion entrepreneur Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has been denied entry into the U.K. following a public controversy stemming from past antisemitic comments. In the aftermath of the ban, instituted by the U.K. government, the entire festival has been canceled.

It’s more than likely Muslims doing the attacking as a misguided protest about Israel.

There are 3 definitions widely accepted for antisemitism, IHRA, JDA and Nexus.

Only the IHRA suggests conflating Israel with the Nazis is antisemitism, the other two don’t.

IMHO, antisemitism has nothing to do with Israel.

Antisemitism is about hatred for Jews, the fact some of them live in Israel is irrelevant.

Which is itself a misrepresentation of the justifiable opposition to Israel’s policies of genocide, ethnic cleansing and lately added ‘capital punishment law’ that singles out one ethnic group ‘Palestinians’.

Not opposition to Israel, or Zionism but opposition to the genocide and war crimes committed by Israel and fueled by extremist Zionism.

If there is a controversy around this particular IHRA definition of antisemitism then it lies in its dismissal of comparisons made upon actual behaviors and policies.

….

To keep things in context: Nick's headline refers to the definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance in 2016. To keep things in their full perspective

As of September 2025, 157 of the 193 United Nations Member States recognize the State of Palestine. Palestine has been a non-member observer state at the United Nations since November 2012, a status that allows participation but no voting rights.

Supporters and excusers of Israel’s Genocide and ethnic cleansing frequently argue there is no Palestinian State, Netanyahu has proclaimed ‘there will be no Palestinian State’.

That’s the stated intention, Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing are the means used by Israel to achieve the stated objective.

So of course ugly comparisons arise in response to ugly similarities.

We should perhaps be more offended by the similarities than by the comparison.

Regardless, some have voiced their support for any actions and policies taken by Israel against the Palestinians, these people have no recourse to the excuse ‘If only we had known’.

Non of that excuses antisemitic attacks on innocent Jews anywhere and these should always be opposed by the full force of the law and public/personal censure.

The ‘Ye’ case you gave above is a perfect example of how such censure can work, not only hitting the virulent antisemite in the ‘pocketbook’ but also hitting the finances of the festival organizers who, I believe, hoped to capitalize on the news coverage and notoriety that arose out of platforming a virulent antisemite.

Well done UK Gov.

There isn't currently a Palestinian state at the moment , so, not having one in the future wouldn't be the G word or the EC word

157 member nations of the UN disagree, but then what does their option matter compared to that of an avowed supporter of genocide and ethnic cleansing?!

Why did the Palestinians invade Israel then ?

Why do they keep attacking Israel ?

What is their grievance ?

Why do you EXTREMISTS insist on pushing the big lie of equivalence or worse to the holocaust. It's obvious why and it's totally disgusting.
