Ok

I believe a Chinese tanker just passed through without being challenged. The Rich Starry.

Fake news, obviously. Nothing in news about CN's tanker denied passage, and quite the opposite ...

The one ship named in that report, the Rich Starry, later resumed its original course and successfully transited the strait (along with three others, according to numerous reports). So they seem to have been unaffected by the purported US blockade.

Sanctioned tankers transit Strait of Hormuz amid US blockade

Another sanctioned tanker, Rich Starry, would be the first to make it through the strait and to exit the Gulf since the blockade began on Monday, data from LSEG and Kpler showed.

Because of the failed UN resolution on 7th April (vetoed by China & Russia), the blockade is illegal and intercepting a Chinese vessel would be an act of piracy and declaration of war on China.

I think it inevitable that one of the things Iran wants, it will get. No American bases in the Middle East.

Didn't they change course and head back? Something to do with the US keeping it's ships out of range, so the interceptions are further out.

I read it did briefly U-turn before turning back and successfully navigating through the strait.

Read again?

A US-sanctioned tanker has reversed course after what looked to be a successful transit of the Strait of Hormuz in the face of a US blockade of Iranian ports. AIS data from Pole Star Global shows Rich Starry, a tanker falsely flying the Malawi flag, abruptly turning north and heading back towards the Strait of Hormuz instead of continuing into the Arabian Sea

Pick a news source. Some MSM stating both, made U-turn & passed thru. Non MSM stating pass thru with no issues only.

Guessing it passed with no issue, as USA doesn't want to piss CN off. Really don't know how USA can justify any blockade of ships, with exception of maybe IR flagged out of the Kharg Is. oil port.

It stated that it passed through and then made a U-turn back. All of the sources state the same thing.

The US-sanctioned tanker Rich Starry made its way back to the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday after exiting the Gulf the day before, shipping data showed, failing to break through a US blockade on vessels calling at Iranian ports.
