Life in Heaven. How will that be?

Featured Replies

Practically all religions promess an eternal "after life in heaven". Granted you followed the "rules" on earth before.

Strictly adressing "religious people": What do you think heaven would be for you personally? How would daily life in heaven be for you? What would you do all day in heaven?

Let me know. Be specific. A general "I will feel good all over" will not suffice.

Sweet you'll be great fertilizer for my endless supply of cannabis plants in heaven. Thanks man. 😆

Atheists will agree.

I am adressing "religious people".

sitting on clouds and whatnot

Its been great so far.

What is the reason behind your questions? I'm not religious myself but once I pop my clogs I know there is something else due to experiences in this life.

Ive donated my body to a medical school so future surgeons can practice on me (after I am dead I hope).

Reason being is I am too tight to pay for even my own funeral.

Seriously I feel when I am dead my body is just dead meat no different than a piece of pork or beef hanging in a butchers shop or on a supermarket shelf.

I really have donated my body for them to do anything they want with it.

I would rather my family, friends anybody that knew me spent the money on having a good time and more than a few drinks rather than a funeral where everybody is miserable.

I have even left money in my will and instructions expressly for that purpose.

And they do get the cremated bits back then the school has finish with them completely free.

I have asked them to dig a hole in the garden put the ashes in it when they get them and plant a tree on top.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Dust to dust, the fire fades

Quiet night, no more weight

Fuse goes dark, the hurting ends

Black and still, where silence bends

It's gonna be GOAT

Can't wait

Ask Trump, according to his late murals, he's cozying up to the big men in the sky so he'd be the right man to ask.

An Abrahamic heaven would be like "a celestial dictatorship, a kind of divine North Korea." With a leader "greedy for uncritical praise from dawn until dusk and swift to punish the original sins with which it so tenderly gifted us in the very first place."

Just before my death, I'm turning Muslim, so I can get the virgins.

I hope they're Thai's, no fat ones please.

I love Thai women. 😘😘😘😘😘

One alternative interpretation of the Quranic term houris (commonly translated as "virgins" or "dark-eyed maidens") replaces this concept with white raisins or white grapes

Is there such a place as heaven ? I somehow doubt it, but I could be wrong. I'll try to let you know post mortem. I'm 85, so not too long to wait.

Could be nice, but you need a Mar-A-Jesus-Club membership. Or you have to make a good deal with him in your lifetime!

The question is NOT what happens to your body. The answer to that is obvious - it rots & disappears in the ground, or is turned to ashes etc.

The question for those few who bother to follow (however amateurishly, as in my case) the issues addressed in modern cosmology & physics & mathematics is: What happens to our consciousness after the death of the body?

Numerous testimonies from sensible people all round the world having had a near-death experience suggest that our consciousness survives the death of the body. For most it seems to be a pleasant experience and one that profoundly changes their life back on earth when their body is stimulated back to full life. What does this mean for life-after-death once the body does finally die here? Dunno, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

I thoroughly recommend that you do not die in Dundee. There are no virgins there.

"Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try. Non hell below us, above us only sky"- Lennon. Sums up by Buddhist leaning outlook toward my passing at age 79.

Swissie, may I respectfully request that if you really want to know what Heaven will be like, then pick up the Word of God and read it for yourself, and pay particular attention to The Book of Revelation. The writers of the Scriptures were inspired by The Holy Spirit to express in human language as best they could at the time, every detail of Heaven, and it is absolutely fascinating. Why would you come to a Forum and ask that question of members who for the most part are hostile towards God and haven't a clue what Heaven will be like?
