Tuk com How depressing......

Featured Replies

I used to there a lot back in the early-mid 2010s. It was the place to go for computers, phones, games, cameras and competitive prices.

The thing is all the reasons I had to go there can be found somewhere else, in most cases more conveniently and cheaper. The TukCom area is busy and tough to park, their parking lot is tight and far. If I want a computer part I'll just go to JIB in Terminal21 which has exactly the same items and a much more convenient parking that is actually in the building, not a few blocks away.

Phones? Can be found anywhere now for exactly the same price.

Games? It's very rare for me to need a physical game nowadays, I buy mostly digital. For accessories and consoles I am better off buying from Lazada on a promotional day and save 10-20%.

Cameras? With the advances in mobile phone cameras I don't see a point in buying a standalone camera anymore, unless you're a very specific type of enthusiast (like a bird photographer) or a professional who makes money from it. But even then, Central and Terminal have camera shops that would have everything that TukCom might have. Once again for the same price.

Competitive prices? Well last I checked TukCom was the same as everywhere else. For the real deals, I wait for the special dates on Lazada.

Places like Tukcom I would go only to find something that I couldn't find anywhere else (or for the same price). Now that I got Lazada and the big malls have good IT shops, I have zero reason to be bothered to visit it.

Funny that — I’ve seen the exact same look back home. It’s called ‘doing the weekly shop and questioning every life decision in aisle 7.’ Doesn’t matter if it’s Tuk Com or Tesco… that fluorescent ligh

The concept is 10 years past its expiry. The days of an "IT" mall to sell mobile phones and IT gear are over. The telecom providers sell the devices in their outlets now. My AIS shop has the sam

Recently made a trip to Tuk Com to update the black box. Had to wait awhile so strolled down to Tops.......big mistake.....what a sorry place.....so depressing.

Everybody in the mall just looks beat down.

I kinda feel sorry for the foreigners who have made that area their home.

It was old 8 years ago whenwas in Pattaya. It is older now. Why feel sorry for those that still meetup there? Central location and easy access vs the flashy malls. Some just don't need the flash to feel good. Not my idea of fun to hangout at a old or new mall but do what you like.

Maybe Harbour Mall will make a comeback, it was meant to takeover from tukcom, sellers had moved over

That place would be a great mix of Nana and 4floors of whoores. Close down Walking and LK, put it all together in that mall. Enough space there for that. That would clean up the place and make it a mecca for quality tourists. Enjoying the sun backed beaches (without any shade), pristine water and friendly Bahtbus drivers. A true paradise is waiting to be developed. 😇

would make a great sort center for all the lazada packages , just my 2 cents worth

Tuk com seemed to be way, way busier prior to the onset of smart phones, tablets etc.

Always jam packed with 50+ year old male tourists & their 18 year old tirak trophy bar girl.

Small wonder any number of BG's had multiple phones stashed under their bar's counter.

Each phone paid for & assigned to a sponsor.🙃🙃

For a newbie, or new account holder, you make a great point. Mongers would love it but can't see it happening. Closure to oblivion more likely. RIP TukCom.

Times change. First went to Panthip Plaza Bangkok in 2002. Used to be jammed on all floors. Went a few years ago and only one floor open selling computers, parts, spare and peripherals. Went to TukCom Pattaya in February 2026 to get a data SIM card. Only one floor with any real tech shops. Went to IT Square Laksi last month and they seemed to have more than TukCom and Pantip combined. When I needed something such as a scanner or new monitor in last 2 years, I used JIB online for delivery (in Bangkok with 2 hours). Great service. Why leave home?

Good idea or call it Naan Plaza for indians

I liked the old Tops

They should never have removed the food court, to make way for the Tops expansion.

I went there to update black box, the lady there does a great job, charges 100 baht. Parking is a problem, parked at Friendship which cost 60 baht. I usually go there alone but this time I had the kid with me which made the trip different and looked at my surroundings with a new light.

No I did get the joke...hence the laughing imoji... which no one knows was from me, because of a silly forum policy but there I just let the 'secret' out.

First couple of hours at the Tuk Com car park is free, allways plenty of room...they have stopped the free

shuttle bus from car park to the building...but it's only a slightly longer walk than from 'Friendship'

If you park at 'Friendship' go in and buy something then have the cashier stamp the parking ticket

for a free park...I'd not try to park like that for the whole day..but have personally got about an hour 😋

Car Park?? Not sure where, I choose not to buy something at Friendship and pay the 40 baht per hour. Usually I take the MC.

My AIS shop has the same items as the mall and it will offer a financing plan that the mall cannot. Tops-Power Buy offers all the electronics as does Lotus, and the factory outlets. They weren't doing that when the Tukcom concept started. It's like video rentals. They had their day.

... And not to forget lazada and shopee where all hardware is available from your couch with a click of a button, delivered home at a price lower than any retail store.

Oh! That's really sh!tty! Just taking the p!ss!!

Best thing about Tuc Com is the massage chair downstairs...melts the stress away.

You never know, Big C Extra looked like it was winding down and dying, since refurb has a good positive vibe, apart from the loitering falang

Big C Extra on Klang? Wouldn't say it ever looked like dying.

The Big C nonextra nuea much more so.

Although you never know, the Tops at Klang/2nd road always looked busy, but one day it was gone.

Wow really ?

I always found their prices comparable to Western prices

I could get a lot more cheaper in Aldi in Australia

Your flights must be dirt cheap to make that comparison worthwhile!

Different plot I think unless I'm mixing up my news stories. Although the signage is now down, this plot was destined to be Yangtree Pattaya Hotel.

loads of empty floor space...but I'm told by one vendor still sky high rent

Perhaps they will turn it back into a hotel again in the near future?

Same thing happening in America. A local shopping mall is being demolished for new housing. Hundreds and hundreds of empty commercial space for rent. They knew what they were doing when they destroyed the world economy with a fake pandemic. Agenda 2030 in full swing.

Nothing to do with the so called fake pandemic. Shopping malls were dying long before that.

Sears, Macy’s, and J.C. Penney closed thousands of locations before 2020.

Tukcom died in 2018
