Off topic, but so you don't make the mistake again....it's the quads that are connected to the patella, hamstring muscles are at the back of the leg.

OK, thanks. I must brush up on my anatomy!

At 2am, there isn't a great weight of traffic, but there is some. It's a busy area, with people moving around, so no driver should be surprised by movement at that time. A busy condo with a 7-11 on both sides of the road and a 24hr market. I very often anticipate people moving from behind stationary vehicles blocking the road in order to continue, adjusting to allow them to pass or simply move over to avoid them. It's not as if he suddenly shot across the road, especially with such a slow vehicle. Paying attention to the road in front of you would enable you to see the trike beginning the movement. I think there was definitely negligence on the part of the car driver. .

As mentioned, I was making general comments about these low speed electric vehicles, not related to this particular accident.

Think it's irrelevant what he was doing at 2 AM, maybe a 7-11 run for a snack. Helmet or alcohol also irrelevant, unless car driver was drunk. At least the 3 wheeler was using the crosswalk, where one would expect to see people crossing. Not that people seem to care in TH, at times.

Zebra crosswalk should have right of way. And seriously, Pattaya city, what is the speed limit.

They are called accidents for a reason. Some preventable, some not so much. Hopefully a speed recovery.

..the majority of these e-trikes have no brake/headlights/indicators..the one involved appears to fit this category also, which makes the rider very difficult to spot, depending on other factors ie road conditions, lighting, etc. at that time of the evening. All vehicular traffic must yield right of way to any person at a Pedestrian Crossing.

I can never understand why Thailand has not adopted the ' GIVE WAY" signs as used in UK/Europe

The unwritten rule is the smaller you are, you need to give way. although doesn't seem to be followed by traffic coming in on the left.
