Dear Folks,

How much do Americans (or most people around the world) really know about the culture found in Iran, compared to how much they might know about the culture found within the newly formed Territory of Israel, as it stands today?

And, if one could preserve either Iran or Israel, which one would you prefer to see endure during the next few years, or maybe the next decade?

1. Iran, with its thousands of years of culture?

2. Israel, which seems to be a conglomeration of mixed-up cultures injected into the territory, mostly less than 100 years ago?

Although I would not want to influence any vote here, I think I would choose, if I must choose, to see Iran endure.

Now that we have been living in the age of easy nuclear weapons, for quite a few decades, the preservation of either Iran or Israel is less assured.

But, if one were to disregard the effects of a nuclear weapon attack, I still favor the culture of Iran. The Iranians seem much less warlike than the Israelis, and this is just based on my reading of the Hebrew Bible, among other sources.

I also love how the name PERSIA rolls off the tongue.

And, also, when I was young, I had two Persian cats and a Persian rug.

I never had no Israeli cats or Israeli rugs, for example.

I am, and have been, very impressed with the long, continuous culture of Persia.

I must remind myself to do a LOT more reading about the culture of Iran/Persia.

I love upbeat reading during the Raining Season in Thailand.

What about you?

Would it be Iran, if you had to make a choice?

Neither, I'd give them both 3 nukes, and tell them they have to use all 3, within 1 week, and within 3000 kms of their own country.

I support Israel, but to eradicate 90 million people to save 10 million people seems a bit rugged.

And we have no idea what percentage of Iranians hate gays.

I'd merge all muslim nations into 1. Give them the middle east but first blow up all the oilfields and storage. Send the Indos to Iran. Send the jews to Indo. Send the Myanmar people to Indo to run the Jews. Make Indo a Buddhist country and make it a province of Thailand.

perhaps a few tariffs here and there...Iran and any other country not wanting to be bullied is probably looking towards nukes or more nukes.

Anyway your comment about what people in the world are talking about got me thinking about a recent video by one my favorite travel vloggers -- Sabbatical (who famously was thrown into prison in Russia).

He was recently in very rural China and yes the children knew about the war in Iran but they seemed to be framing it in terms of the USA vs. Iran rather than Israel vs. Iran.

Here's the hilarious part -- they were asking if it's true that Americans EAT children (Epstein was also mentioned).

Sabbatical quipped we say Haitians are eating cats and dogs and Chinese are saying Americans are eating children.
