You obviously had the wrong wife or girlfriends for that, as it's always good if you treat them well. They also might be bored with you as it takes two to tango. Men who look at their women as objects

The topic isn't about masturbation actually. It's about how many spurts per month men over 50 should have (in any way they choose) for optimum continued healthy function of the prostate and equipment.

Sorry, but I am not convinced there is solid scientific evidence to back up this "21 times a month" number. Could be, but these doctors often get it wrong.

I could say the same about you or many on here. The average poster might be 65 but sounds 17.

It is about as accurate as weather forecasts. They make it up as they go along based on 1 or 2 studies. For over 50yos 10 a month be fairly normal. Less if you are busy and tired.

There is no evidence frequent ejaculation prevents the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) , which occurs in 80% of men over 70.

OTOH, there is some evidence frequent ejaculation lowers the risk of prostate cancer by 20%.

At my age, I am more focused on having a good dump.

I enjoy a good piss more. Dumping is dirty. More clean up. Plus a chilli dump is no fun at all. A good wee in the shower is bliss!

How much is enough?

A pint?

A quart?

A gallon?

Concerning the amount of ejaculate, enough is never enough.

There is always the need for more.

About the number 21.

I don't think that means that a lower number like 12 would have no benefit, but obviously if the number is very low or zero, that can't be good for your sexual health over time.

While I meant this to be about the medical aspects of frequent enough ejaculations, as the video covers, there are of course other factors around self pleasuring. Psychological issues like shame, practical issues if in relationships (is it cheating? "morality" of porn. secrecy or open about it), and many more.

Then there is appetite. If you're 70 up for example and have no desire for such frequency (solo or partnered) are you supposed to force an appetite that isn't there, or just accept it?

So all this splooging or not splooging doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Thanks for the vacuum idea.......

Did any of this rivetting information come from Robert Kennedy Jnr after all he does have a fetish for racoons penises.

Thailand is very good at finding compromises that do two things: give a wink and a nod to reality, and also let everyone save face.

One example is weed. There's a pro-weed and an anti-weed lobby in the government, so the compromise is to call it "medical marijuana". Weed shops become a public service.

The same can be done for the "entertainment" industry. Despite the "no prostitution in Thailand" thing, everyone knows it's everywhere. Given this data on 21 per month, agogos and beer bars and massage parlors can be called "Medical Ejaculation Clinics" and the women "Medical Therapists" or even "Prostate Therapists", with all licensed as such. It enlarges the tent of Medical Tourism well beyond Bumrungrad et al.

Everybody wins.

Duplicate post.

That reminds me of an old Jethro joke.

There are several factors that matter for good prostate health, and chasing a fixed ejaculation number is not always realistic or healthy for every relationship.

As we get older, sex often changes. Desire, energy, mood, stress, heat, routine, and daily life all play a role. After many years together, it will take more thought, care, and imagination to keep a sex life interesting. Sometimes a quick one is fine, but if sex becomes only a quick release or a sleeping pill, it will take away from the slower build-up, desire, and intimacy that make sex meaningful.

There is also the monthly cycle. For an average woman who is younger than us, menstruation is around five days, give or take, each month. That naturally removes a good part of the calendar if sex during that time is not wanted. And honestly, sex is much better after that dry-up week, when desire and appetite have had time to build again.

There is more than one way to support prostate health. Exercise matters too. Walking helps, running, swimming, cycling, weight training, stretching for mobility, and simple Kegel exercises.

Diet also matters.

For single people, no problem with masturbation every day or almost, but christ sake how boring. In a relationship, too much solo activity will take energy, desire, and attention away from shared intimacy.

So the point is simple: prostate health should not be reduced to one number. A healthy sex life, regular movement, good diet, mobility, and balance matter too.

F sake we are not machines like we used to be in the 20 and 30íes, some even up to much older ages.

And honestly, men’s biggest enemies for prostate health are often alcohol, poor diet, and lack of exercise. Were those factors taken into account in the research, or has the “21 times a month” number simply been pulled out of the scientific paper without the full context?

I asked AI

Yes, your criticism is fair. The “21 times a month” claim is often pulled out of the paper as if it is a simple health command, but the original research did include several lifestyle factors in the analysis.

In the 2016 European Urology / Health Professionals Follow-up Study paper, the researchers adjusted for many confounders, including physical activity, body mass index, diabetes, smoking, PSA testing, total energy intake, processed meat, tomato sauce, calcium, alcohol, and other factors. They also noted that men with higher ejaculation frequency tended to have higher BMI, higher alcohol consumption, more smoking history, and more STI history, so they specifically considered whether other health risks could distort the result. Their conclusion was still that higher ejaculation frequency was associated with lower total prostate-cancer diagnosis, especially low-risk disease, but they also said residual confounding is still possible.

So the best scientific reading is this: alcohol and diet were not ignored, but neither were they “solved.” Observational studies can adjust statistically, but they cannot fully prove cause and effect.

Also, prostate health is bigger than prostate cancer. For urinary symptoms and enlarged prostate problems, alcohol is a very real enemy because it can increase urine production, irritate the bladder, and worsen symptoms. Mayo Clinic and the NHS both advise limiting alcohol and caffeine for enlarged-prostate symptoms.

For prostate cancer specifically, the evidence is more nuanced. The American Cancer Society says obesity does not clearly increase overall prostate-cancer risk, but men with obesity may have higher risk of aggressive prostate cancer. The National Cancer Institute says some evidence links alcohol with increased prostate-cancer risk, but the evidence is not as strong as for cancers like mouth, throat, liver, breast, or colorectal cancer.

Yeah, well let's face it.

It's not just sexual desire that makes people ejaculate.

I know some of you guys will cream your pants with this breaking news.

A shooter opened fire inside the hotel where Trump was attending the White House Correspondents' dinner, according to a law enforcement official. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and top leaders of the United States were evacuated from the annual dinner and were reportedly ok.

Another victory for the Second Amendment. Let's face it, firearms are penis extensions.

the optimal frequency for men over 50 is to ejaculate (solo or partnered) at least 21 times a month.

Optimal.....so I don't need to cut back?

I've recently read similar as the OP in a scientific magazine – results from 115 international studies in the field with data from almost 55,000 men – so, the advice seems healthy enough. Might in a way be a health benefit for elder men to live in Thailand, especially as single in certain areas, or beeing allowed to have a young mia noi or gik(s)...crazy
