Once they told me about the requirement for 10 separate transactions that would have been a huge red flag, and I likely would have walked away. The car market here is quite soft right now, so the se

I'm surprised that your card didn't get suspended with that pattern of transactions, a whopping 10 transactions in a row at the same merchant in quick succession! I would never even dare attempting so

  • There was a few red flags from the beginning there, why would you want to go on with the transaction ? What was so special about the car? To good price ?

Buying a car with Card was / is normal.

Only the past few years QR has taken over most transactions in Thailand, and until crossborder QR works for high value transactions you have very little choice but to use a card or transfer funds in.

The first three vehicles I bought was by cash. Kinda strange walking with a bag of money, next ones was by bank transfer. I also only paid deposit until they where ready for delivery or handover.

There's Probably a good reason they don't.

You'd have all the annoying foreigners who have too much free time in there wasting the courts time on trivial, useless matters. 😂

Was resolved in the end, POS bank refunded (minus 65,000 THB in exchange fees)

Did payment at the bank where the company had a bank, charged card to their bank.

Last time i do a payment with a Bangkok Car dealership though that isn't brand new car.
