What Did You Have For Lunch

Featured Replies

There's a topic about breakfast and dinner, so I thought I'd start one about lunch, Some foreigners eat Thai and some Western, and it varies also, and I'd like to hear what others are having as my lunch today of Canned Tuna in Olive Oil, Sauerkraut and Fermented Pickles is kinda boring. I like seeing pictures of what their wives or they make, as it brings me back home if it's western, and has me interested as I love Thai food and have had very good to poor here.

Looks good. If members can name the dishes it would be good. I had Pad Krapow Gai as my second meal in town today before I came home for lunch.

I agree. Better to see home made efforts with a personal touch or at least something unusual with descriptions.

Less showing off and more sharing.

Krapao talay for my wife, and pad Thai moo for me. Hope nobody thinks it is showing off eating normal Thai food while traveling

Like Krapao Talay. My girlfriend makes a dish with Shrimp, Pork, Rice Noodles, Onions, a couple of Chilis and Basil that I love. Her Green Curry with Chicken, Eggplant (2 kinds), Galangal, Green Curry Paste, Basil, Lime, Coconut Milk and other spices is also great. It's usually dinner there but sometimes Saturday lunch.

Good eye ... for others, 'rolled noodles' & braised pork. One of the tastiest soups (pork / broth) I've had. Wanted some dim sum, but all out. Very nice strong coffee w/tea 👍👍

Right across the street from the EV charging station.

Cheese and biscuits. Dinner is our main meal of the day.

I prefer the Thai fur burgers, not as smelly as the western ones

Very good Freddy, I always thought of you as a wet sponge, a boring, serious guy.

You can be funny 👍

I had "2" Rotisery ( that's how they spell it at the counter) chickens we picked up @ Big C Marche' / Bluport

minus the 4 wings .. I stripped them down and shared them with one of my dogs

Way off the mark, but I'm used to those assumptions here.

Lunch, chilli and rice,

Crabmeat Khao Soi Noodles at North restaurant.

฿600, but they give you a lot of the add-ons like the pickled cabbage, and it’s a beautiful setting of a modern reinterpretation of an old wooden northern Thai home.

And like a fist sized portion of large lump crab meat.

Going to a four star Thai restaurant and ordering something like green curry where somebody went to cooking school and is a little creative is one of the joys of living along Sukhamvit Road

About 3 months ago I bought a nice ribeye roll and cut my own thick steaks. Well I forgot about some trim pieces I had left in the freezer. Looking for something else last night I came across them. So for lunch today made up some steak sandwiches. I had some mushrooms and onions and made a quick gravy with a butter roux in the steak pan. Happy with the way they came out,

Lunch? Lately, I've only been eating two meals a day. A light breakfast and then a late meal sometime in the early afternoon. Sometimes I'll cook a steak or maybe a salmon filet along with some veggies, or sometimes I get lazy and just pick up the phone and order something delivered via Grab. I guess I'm not much of a cook, or rather, I don't have the patience to cook anything that has more than three or four ingredients, and that eliminates a lot of good things I could cook.

Fried Rice = rice, onion, garlic, vegetables, egg, kung or chicken, ...there's seven!
