Razor blades 2026

another Harry's fan .. good move .. go for the Harry's Plus next time .. you will like it

I'm sure I would! I like everything about Harry's Razors. I've never had better, closer, more comfortable shaves than when I switched to Harry's.
It looks as it the Plus version needs a dedicated cartridge. I made the mistake of buying a dozen cartridges when I bought the regular handle, and at the rate I'm using them, I'll be set for about the next two years! Perhaps then I'll try the Plus, although I can't imagine it could be better! The regular gives me the perfect shave.

Having a stock is good, but once you break the sealing and protection, they start to degrade. And if you store them in the bathroom? Even worse.

Order placed yesterday, delivered now

50baht for one Inc delivery

The balm will not contribute to the smoothness of the shave, as you have already cut the whiskers off.

Well obvious, the after shave balm is used to keep the skin moisterised after dragging a razor around you face, and one that does not contain alcohol as that dries your skin out,

I was talking about the smootness of the shave, not moisturising my skin.

30 years ago, or even longer you saw men on their way to work on the bus, with blody paper sheet on their faces after the morning shave 🤨 maybe a bit longer ago, but it was not unusual

Interesting.

But I was talking about BIC razors that are available now.

Yes they have, but since we're talking about present day shaving options, and I didn't post pictures of 50 year BIC razors, your comment is irrelevant.

It's a tough habit to break, but good luck anyway.

I've been an advocate for the double edge safety razors for years. They are very good, give a close shave (with some practice. First experience looked like Freddy Krugar but quickly improved realising you just use the razors weight) and very cheap. You can find the feather blades on Lazada 10 packets with 10 per for a good price and lasts forever.

Back to my reason for posting. I had some Gillette fusion blades that I use when I want a really close shave and I don't have much time but unfortunately my supply had run dry and the prices for those blades are ridiculous here.

A while back I was shopping on the 7 eleven app and found these on the bogof section. They are from Korea and they have 6 blades. I'll be honest I didn't expect anything from these, they are 59 baht and where bogof so I figured, not much to loose. Well they turned out to be the find of the year. They give as good a shave as the fusion, genuinely! And I have very thick beard hair. I did a 3 day test and I was very impressed.

They are currently on bogof in my local 7 but I noticed they weren't in all so might need a bit of hunting, you can also get on Lazada and probably big c. If not on bogof in store you can check the app and order for collection at that location. I stocked up when I found they where decent and have about a year's supply.

So, I visited all 7/11 in my neighborhood, 10 stores.

Out of Razor blades, and should had stocked a bit more last time I arrived.

The Gillette quality here is honestly not on pair compared to German made Gillette.

Anyone have a good deal they can share? Topps is overpriced, way more expensive than back home.

Anyone tried these? If they give you a few showing each without cutting you? Would they be worth it?

Lazada

Gillette Fusion 5 Razor Blades, 5 Layer Replaceable Heads...

Any good tips on a good shawing machine that's does the deed? Prefer Lazada

Gillette Mach 3.

Pack 5, 3 blade razors. 25-30 baht Mr. DIY.

Works just fine. thumbsup

I agree about product quality. You must consider the average Thai guy uses a nail clipper. This is what we're up against.

I also think those blades must be more suitable.

Got my Phillips 7000 series shaver yesterday, and yes, I loved it, and did a simple budget comparison between a Philips 7000 electric shaver and Gillette Fusion blades here in Thailand.

Philips 7000:

Machine: 5,000 baht

Lifespan: 3–5 years

Machine cost per year: 1,000–1,700 baht

New shaving heads every year: about 1,700 baht

Cleaning cartridges, 4 per year: about 2,300 baht

Total Philips cost:

5-year lifespan: about 5,000 baht per year

3-year lifespan: about 5,700 baht per year

Gillette Fusion:

One cartridge every 3 weeks = about 17 cartridges per year

4-pack: about 1,000–1,100 baht

Yearly cost: about 4,300–4,700 baht

Without cleaning cartridges, Philips is cheaper.

With cleaning cartridges included, Philips is not really cheaper. It is more about comfort, convenience, and easier daily shaving in Thailand.

I alternate between a Braun S5 electric shaver (better than the S3's I used for years) and the Gillette razor. The Braun can get my face as smooth as a razor but takes longer. Both are used wet.

I suggest Watson's 5 razor system which i consider as good and last just as long as Gillette razors, not too mention cheaper!

I don't understand why foreigners need shave with razors in Thailand.

I use these battery shavors, not as close as a razor but not as annoying either.

While it's true I only shave my neck and part of my cheeks every other day, I've been using the same 'Harry's Razor' cartridge for the last four months, so about 60 shaves, and it still shaves clean and drag-free! I average 4-6 months per cartridge.
I will never again waste money on a shaving system that forces me to spend big bucks on cartridges that only last a handful of shaves!

There IS a trick to this longevity, above and beyond the quality of Harry's blades. And that is to strop your blades before every shave, just like a barber does! Stropping will prolong any cartridge, but when you start with really, really sharp, the stropping does amazing things! Daily stropping removes the oxidation that forms on the edge as soon as you stop using the blade. Given time, you'd see that as rust. But because we use the blades daily, and throw them away after a week or two, we never see the 'red' rust, but the oxidation continues to build up. That oxidation IS strong enough to cause blade drag, and unless you remove it, you will feel it on your skin.

I made my strop from a piece of leather (any vegetable-tanned leather will work... an old belt or a cut-up leather purse) cut to the width of the cartridge, and glued to a piece of wood. As long as it's flat and relatively smooth, it will work.
15-20 strokes on the strop, edge trailing, will noticeably improve the shave. Try it yourself!

I'm interested in trying the Harry's razor system out, is there a shop in Thailand that carries them or can you order online for delivery to Thailand.

I've tried other brands, and other models from Gillette, but I keep coming back to the Gillette Mach 3. The blades last reasonably long, I get a good, close shave, and I hardly ever cut myself, even when I am careless.

I love a close, comfortable shave, and as an old man, saving money on razor blades is not high on my list of priorities.

I buy my blades in the US, top of the line Gillette Labs, but even if I did not, I could order 12 blades from Amazon and have them delivered to me in Thailand for less than the cost of a nice meal out with the wife.

I buy all my shaving supplies in the US, and I think the prep and lather are just as or more important than the blade itself.

Gillette has a shop within Lazada Mall. Parcel is in this case shipped by Gillette itself, I ordered there several times.

you guys keep speaking about razor blades but nobody said anything about the type of beard you have, harsh/thicker facial hair or just a couple hairs on your face, I have to shave every 2 days or I will look like a monkey, am a Mediterranean guy that has been using Gillette fusion for quite some time, tried all electric type from Braun, Phillips, etc. they don't make a good shave for me, not soft skin, only the fusion does shave close enough for a good soft touch but have to change blade every 4-5 shaves or it will give a rash, usually buy them on Lazada and always looking for their promotion to build my inventory as I like to have, if there is something better then Gillette please share

I'm not that hairy, but used machine yesterday and original Gillette fusion now, and it is like baby face. Perfect combo.
