Razor blades 2026

Featured Replies

Out of Razor blades, and should had stocked a bit more last time I arrived.

The Gillette quality here is honestly not on pair compared to German made Gillette.

Anyone have a good deal they can share? Topps is overpriced, way more expensive than back home.

Anyone tried these? If they give you a few showing each without cutting you? Would they be worth it?

Gillette is what I use, and Fusion 5 as well, it is just the overpriced blades you get here in Thailand, most likely made for asians, not older westerns with thicker stubbs or facial hair. When I was younger, Im sure they would had been just perfect, but now, my facial hair is like an iron brush in comparison.

Shavy Performa 6. Get from Lazada or shopee at around 90 baht for 2. I find these better than using Gillette Mach 3 which I used for years.

Lazada, real Gillette blades and much cheaper as in Germany.

I switched from 'Gillette' to 'Harry's', and I'll never look back!
While it's true I only shave my neck and part of my cheeks every other day, I've been using the same 'Harry's Razor' cartridge for the last four months, so about 60 shaves, and it still shaves clean and drag-free! I average 4-6 months per cartridge.
I will never again waste money on a shaving system that forces me to spend big bucks on cartridges that only last a handful of shaves!

There IS a trick to this longevity, above and beyond the quality of Harry's blades. And that is to strop your blades before every shave, just like a barber does! Stropping will prolong any cartridge, but when you start with really, really sharp, the stropping does amazing things! Daily stropping removes the oxidation that forms on the edge as soon as you stop using the blade. Given time, you'd see that as rust. But because we use the blades daily, and throw them away after a week or two, we never see the 'red' rust, but the oxidation continues to build up. That oxidation IS strong enough to cause blade drag, and unless you remove it, you will feel it on your skin.

I made my strop from a piece of leather (any vegetable-tanned leather will work... an old belt or a cut-up leather purse) cut to the width of the cartridge, and glued to a piece of wood. As long as it's flat and relatively smooth, it will work.
15-20 strokes on the strop, edge trailing, will noticeably improve the shave. Try it yourself!

Thanks, do you use alcohol ? I was thinking maybe alcohol could help to, but the rubber and plastic on the gillete would disolve I think

Unfortunately I had the bad idea to order with the mentioned online provider these so called "Gillette Fusion 5" and the only thing in common with the real Gillette Fusion 5 is the name they sell it for. Apart from the German colors on the package, it has nothing to do with German quality. For me, the angle of the blades are not the same as the original, hence the shaving is much less thorough and one has to be much more careful not to get cuts. On the original blades you have the name Gillette on the orange colored side, which is not the case for this very bad copy.

Just a very bad and I should have bought the real Gillette for a little more expensive.

No, no alcohol. Running water to clean the cartridge after shaving, and a good shaking to remove it. Then 15-30 strokes on the strop before shaving. I’ve found that about less than half a teaspoon of ‘Gatsby’s Shaving Gel’ let’s the blade just slip along as if there is no hair being cut! I’ve been using this system for the past 10-12 years, and not found a better, more comfortable, more economical shave!

I've been an advocate for the double edge safety razors for years. They are very good, give a close shave (with some practice. First experience looked like Freddy Krugar but quickly improved realising you just use the razors weight) and very cheap. You can find the feather blades on Lazada 10 packets with 10 per for a good price and lasts forever.

Back to my reason for posting. I had some Gillette fusion blades that I use when I want a really close shave and I don't have much time but unfortunately my supply had run dry and the prices for those blades are ridiculous here.

A while back I was shopping on the 7 eleven app and found these on the bogof section. They are from Korea and they have 6 blades. I'll be honest I didn't expect anything from these, they are 59 baht and where bogof so I figured, not much to loose. Well they turned out to be the find of the year. They give as good a shave as the fusion, genuinely! And I have very thick beard hair. I did a 3 day test and I was very impressed.

They are currently on bogof in my local 7 but I noticed they weren't in all so might need a bit of hunting, you can also get on Lazada and probably big c. If not on bogof in store you can check the app and order for collection at that location. I stocked up when I found they where decent and have about a year's supply.

I have learned the hard way, and costly one too, that razor blades you buy from reputable outlet, not Lazada, not Shoppe, Temu and alike, they are all fake and a waste of money, Amazon comes to mind for those in Thailand and big supermarkets and chemist shops in other countries.

I ordered a test pack, not to much for a trial, and ofter searching, it seems the Mach3 Gillette will suit me better, and since already have all kinds of Gillette holders with battery, I will not change those. And also as mentioned here, they also advised to shave first with a safety razor first and finish wit Mach3 and if even more smooth shaving fusion5 blades. But shaving once have to be enough. Might buy a new Phillips wet shaving when back home.

I have been using Gillette Mach3 Turbo for 25 years the plain Gillette Mach3 just don't cut it for me.

Gillette here are well and truly daylight robbery...฿ 600 for 2 blades.

What is "bogof?"

I use Gillette Sensor Excel. I’ve been using sensor since it first came out years and years ago. It’s a two blade cartridge which is enough. I personally don’t see the need for five blades which just makes the cartridges so stupidly expensive. Unfortunately the refills aren’t sold at retail in Thailand any more so I have to buy them from Lazada. Possibly counterfeit, but the quality is OK.

the Fusion lasts a month. What is your comarrison?

I have switched from Fusion to Gillette Labs and like them. They seem to last even longer than the Fusion. and I like the stand.

I get all my shaving supplies from the US, but I see they are on Lazada.

I do the opposite because I often let my stubble grow wild. Philips electric first, then safety razor, then two-blade. Don't think five blades do a better job than two. I get mine on Lazada.

Bought my Philips electric on Lazada, too. Just over B500, as I recall.

Good thing Thai girls are virtually hairless, eh!

I would say they are comparable to fusion in both cut and length of use. To be honest I'd recommend anyone trying them even at full price of of 59 baht. I'll also be trying the tip from a comment above with the leather strop.

I do not think anything shaves as close as a double-edge with a good blade, but just too risky.

I use my electric daily, and Gillette twice a week.

Why do you need electric AFTER the blade?
