Visiting in August

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I'm thinking of visiting in August for 4 weeks if I can get my work long service leave approved

Im hoping August will not be busy , I don't like crowds

What is the month of August like ?

I will need to do a lot of planning beforehand as many of you know I'm an amatuer statistical analysis academic

I may even be looking for a condo to buy ready for retirement in a few years

One thing I did find last trip was there was no direct bus from the airport to Jomtien beach

I did lodge a complaint but haven't heard anything back

What can I expect in August in terms of events , and general study of the area demographics

Lots of weird, freaky foreigners. I heard that your German friend is coming in August.

George’s retirement plan appears to be a travelling study in contradiction. April: “You won’t be seeing me again in Pattaya.” June: “What condos should I buy in Pattaya?”

From previous rantings from you, I assume you have been in Thailand several times.

How come you do not know about the bus from BKK to Pattaya, then an Uber or Baht bus to Jomtien Beach.

I don't even know what a Statistical Analysis Academic is or that you were one.

Did you study it at school or University where you get a degree in it, or is it something you learn individually, or are you BS'ing us all.

Rainy month in parts. Pattaya is a dump so might as well stay in room watch the rain fall. I will be in Khanom away from the Patts flogs!

Well you're right that it doesn't go to all the way to the beach, but it does go here;

August is still the low season so less tourists less busy 👍

Height of the rainy season in possibly not the best time to go.

Pick the right bus and it drops you in Jomtien.

Yes, I guess you mean at the junction of Theprasit and Thappraya, next to the supermarket.

....this post this section , because this forum is not just about Thailand despite contrary to what many of you think , sorry to burst your bubble honeys it's a forum for ALL South East Asia

It's sad many if you live in the past

So the Philippines has passed new laws on April 6th

You must wear a T shirt in public , you will be fined

Especially those fat old farangs in Cebu

The young Israelis and young Filipinos is perfectly fine in my books

All I can say is my next trip will be to Cebu in the Philippines to look for a new place to retire

Especially after these new laws and oh No vlogging is allowed

Many UK expats have moved to Cebu because of their pension increases

You won't be seeing me again in Pattaya.

Which is it George?

Can I perhaps ask you to remain civil

, I realise you had a difficult career in which you hardly turned up for as you called in sick every Monday but why should the rest of us suffer because of your abseetism?

You have statistical analysis about many members, like him calling in sick every Monday, ladyboys, abusive monkeys, mopping, and foreigners seen sleeping in ramshackle places in Thailand, so I would think you would know by now what it's like here in August. Dig into your notes. Book 7, Chapter 5, Subchapter 4, page 11, and you'll see everything about visiting in August. Events, weather, buffets, beach conditions, ladyboy parties and simian culture.

I did not realize you were so sensitive. I did send a quick message to your friends to let them know you are cancelling your plans to visit the Philippines and coming back to Pattaya.

Actually there is an orange bus I took once from Jomtien to BKK, only four hours.

Dude, this is Thailand, "lodge a complaint"! 55555

As mentioned, August is in the middle of the rainy/monsoon season, so it can be less expensive. However, August is also peak school holiday month for European and North American families and we tend to see an uptick from those tourists because that's the only time they can do the trip (aside from year-end). That aside, quite often August isn't too rainy. But September and October are the worst for rain. Jomtien is just one long stretch of budget resorts across the road from the beach. Not much to do there.

Next time, please be a hot shot, and go taxi fancy-style!
