It's like Israel, they can't give up their violence. They've grown used to it, maybe even think they're doing good.

Same with Yanks. They're addicted to their guns. Even a true dictator couldn't take away America's guns. So the US population will have to just live in fear that they could be shot to death at any time.

The Second Amendment was written in 1791 for a world of muskets, not modern semi-automatic firearms. The claim that "more guns make us safer" is not supported by international evidence. The United

The law, the law, the law. Gun owners are above the law, aren't they? "Some states". How would they catch you? At least until you tested it out by shooting somebody.

Why the dodge?

People that do not like guns just want to take them away from people that do like guns.

Four times as many alcohol related deaths as firearm related deaths.

60% of all reported incidence of domestic violence are alcohol related.

75% of all reported incidence of rape are alcohol related.

35% of gun suicides are alcohol related.

30% of gun homicides are alcohol related.

I don't drink, let's get rid of the booze.

"Like" something that has muzzle velocity is a pretty sick reason. Can blame alcohol, of course, but at least some of those examples involve guns. Govt really, really, really likes those booze taxes! Is the Trumpet tariffing Single-malt and French wines yet?

I'm not addicted to my guns. they are tools for a sport. All Americans do not own guns. America is free, which is why they won't take our guns away. I lived near, and worked in, New York City, for 30 years, and next to San Antonio for 32, and never feared anything. Fentanyl is a very dangerous drug America is trying to get under control, by trying to stop it's import illegally.

Okay, and what did that someone do to help his son before the OD. I'm betting, gave up. I have a friend in AB with an addict son; parents have given up...for years.

I opine that all drug use would actually decrease with legalisation. With "mass", you seem to be of the view that free drugs will just grow exponentially, and out of control.

Drug use would decrease with what kind of legislation, capital punishment for first offenders?

My children have all been raised around guns, and some have hunted. they know full well how to handle a gun and the responsibilities of one. Art is made by many people in all areas. I don't have the talent to make a gun ( I think). A legitimate gun owner is one like myself that uses them for hunting and target shooting, along with self defense. A semi auto is good for a possible follow up shot at game if the first didn't stop it, so it doesn't get away and suffer a slow death. target shooting with semis is a fun sport, but not one I do.

Ah, okay: "self-defence". Exactly, from whom have you defended yourself? If you have not, do you anticipate it an the future? And from whom?

Legalization would mean more would get drugs easier, which means more overdoses as many are afraid of being busted now.

No dodge. I stated that the gun war will never be won in the US, even under a true dictator.

No one yet, and hopefully none later. I don't have any handguns but will buy two when we return. One for deer and one for self defense, carried when I'm visiting certain areas.

I asked you to support your claim that: "Guns have been the leading cause of death among younger Americans (aged 1–19) since 2020, according to CDC data.", yet you never provided the data.

I also asked if the data specified what percentage of the gun deaths were suicides, and you have not responded to that.

I believe that you do not like guns, and would like them taken away from the people that do like guns, is that correct?

Apologies, it is my responsibility to provide evidence for my claim.

The CDC states:
'Injuries and deaths from firearms impact many children and teens, their families, and their communities in the United States. Taking into account all types of firearm injuries, including homicides, suicides, and unintentional injuries, firearm injuries were the leading cause of death among children and teens ages one to 19 in 2020 and 2021'.

Please note that I referenced the total figure and did not make a separate claim regarding suicide.

Nice try at moving the goalposts — my personal opinions on gun ownership are not relevant here.

Yeah I have been studying the gun world myself after years away. No sense having 10 P 08s in a safe while living in Thailand, better to sell them and use the cash. Prices are stupid these days.

I wont get back into all sorts of toys, just a basic kit: Seecamp for back pocket, a 1911 or two, 357 or 44 revolver depending on where I end up, Colt M4, good bolt gun. My last two hunting guns were a Winchester 54 and a Sako AV, Id probably just get similar.

"Suicide accounts for approximately 20% to 22% of all deaths among adolescents and young people. It ranks as the second or third leading cause of death for children and teens ages 10 to 19, closely following unintentional injuries and homicides."

So, if you remove gun suicides from the gun related deaths, the leading cause would again me accidents.

And ~40000 traffic deaths every year and ~700000 deaths every year from diet related diseases and illnesses, all preventable for the most part without infringing on anybody’s birthright. So why not first put up a fuss about those two issues? This is just a subject that gets inflamed by the media hysterics. And it would probably be a good idea to let law enforcement do their job in the blue communities.

You have repeatedly asked me to support my claims, and I have done so in good faith.
Yet, the link you provided here doesn't actually back up the basis of your own post.
It feels a bit inconsistent to demand strict proof from me, only to offer a seemingly contrived narrative and numbers that your own source fails to support.

I asked you to support the same claim repeatedly, and only after each time you failed two. You even clipped my request from my post that you responded to. Thank you for supporting your claim.

What is in my claim that my source does not support? From my linked source:
