The Reflecting Pool Debacle: Metaphor of Trump's Administration

No need. Trump's on it...

I am sorry, I can not find any video showing reflecting pool vandalism.

Someone holding their hand into the pool for a few seconds? This is certainly not what you mean, right?

There must be sth. substantial, people acting with sharp tools or so. Something a judge would not laugh out of the court room in an instant.

Look, your trump stated a many 100 feet long gash (length varied depending on the time of the day) - not even after emptying the pool such a thing could be shown.

Just think about it, how could Trump make such a statement if no one could see the bottom clearly? Were divers or diving drones deployed?

You're right. It's a perfect metaphor. The metaphor is that the lefties would destroy the country to "stop Trump". The "Go Algae" signs they're carrying say it all. BTW, Trump spent a lot less than

Nobody vandalized the project. That’s just Trump making 💩up again. It was just a poorly thought out project using the wrong materials and a grifting contractor. He can never admit when he’s wrong, so

I also searched and could only find the same video of someone blurry dipping their hand in for a few seconds. Surely it is not what @impulse is referring to as he has clear vandalism video.

I don't know about you but the one I found was on Fox "news" with the "news" presenter saying it's just "liberals destroying public property as they have done for decades."

Maybe Impulse is actually blind and can only hear the report and not see it?

(VIDEO) Trump Posts More Footage of Reflecting Pool Vandalism After Pirro Flop: “Look for yourselves at the VANDALISM” – Burgum Also Slams US Attorney The Gateway Pundit by Jordan Conradson

Is that your proof? 🤣

BTW, it was 8 days after the DOI reported pool floor damages to the DOJ! 😆

Blind? How about not the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer?

Embarrassingly for the Trump administration but unsurprisingly enough, given what the DOJ has admitted about the lack of evidence, the other three people indicted have also had their charges dropped.

Ripple effects: Three people have Reflecting Pool charges dropped after Hearn request

As of Monday, NPR has confirmed — with lawyers and court filings — that prosecutors subsequently dropped their cases against the three individuals facing misdemeanor charges. The identical one-page motions did not explain the federal government's reasoning.

Not at all. There are videos of the vandals.

It's not unlike the Hur report, where Hur concluded that Biden was guilty as sin, but recommended against pressing charges because they'd never empanel a jury in DC that would find him guilty. That was the quiet part out loud.

They'd never empanel a jury in leftist DC that would find any vandals guilty, either.

I'm not claiming that the workmanship was good. Their mistake was trying to get it done too quickly for the 250 Celebration. But poor workmanship doesn't justify vandalism.

So you just believe anything and everything Trump says, then? (Rhetorical question, by the way).

Even Trump's own DOJ and his hand-picked US Attorney Jeanine Pirro have admitted that there is no evidence to support the charges of vandalism.

If there really were actual videos showing the alleged vandalism, they wouldn't have dropped the charges - especially knowing how invested Trump is in selling his own particular narrative about the damage to the pool.

The detailed reasoning set forth in the DOJ's motion to dismiss makes it crystal clear why the charges against Hearn were dropped and it had absolutely nothing to do with thinking a jury wouldn't convict.

It's a long document but here are some of the more pertinent parts.

... the DOI provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor [...] and the rush to complete the project ...

... the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism as initially represented by DOI.

In answer to your "rhetorical question", not that it needs answering, is that this particular poster is a dyed in the wool MAGA cult follower, so he lives and breathes Trump and believes everything he says. This gives credence to what Trump said about his supporters, "I love the poorly educated" as here you have a prime example.

A bit presumptious from someone who once touted a false lawsuit by a fraudster as evidence that Trump was a pedophile. I've rarely seen anything more stupid on these boards. Obvious lies sold as fact.

How are Trumps efforts doing?

I heard more cases were dropped due to lack of evidence for wrongdoing - and more evidence for shoddy work...
